elisabeth we've had loads of spiders compared to last year! Most of them are the tiny body and huge leg sort, but we've had a couple of the really big fat nasties too. My son has become so paranoid he checks the corners of every room he enters.
You do get a free changing bag, but it's so small I can't really find much of a use for it.

Not seeing anyone for two weeks sounds so lovely and peaceful sexymouse. No chance of that for me with the big kids and the school run.

Hope it's all going to start for you MummyofTwo, labour vibes to you.

That's what I'm hoping so that it gives me a chance to try and get breastfeeding established etc. My family aren't too happy about it though. I've told Moon that he's not allowed to call anyone from the hospital when Bean is born so that this way they won't even know to randomly turn up either at the hospital or at home and we can tell them in our own time (i.e. when I'm ready).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I do like the Next changing bags, but they don't look big enough. I want to be able to carry drinks and snacks, hats and gloves for my big kids as well as baby bits. Otherwise I'll need an extra bag to carry for weekends and after school.

That's a nice way to use the outfit, how lovely of your nan to save it for you.

I never understand that advice, because it's far hotter in the hospital than it will ever be at home, so it just doesn't seem to make any sense to me. But I will take a hat as I can remember being moaned at when I didn't for my daughter, and they stuck her in a hideous one that they found.

I have a Next changing bag hun. 3EB69628.jpg That's with a 27 pack of Pampers nappies in. Plus cotton wool, clothes etc etc. They are quite big. Gilly has the same one I think and she uses real nappies and finds them plenty big enough too x

She gave all the other baby clothes away, I asked her to get rid of them because I couldn't and I thought she had got rid of the outfit too but because she knew it's importance she kept it and gave it to me a couple of weeks ago :) xx
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I think LMM said the hat thing is because it protects against SIDS but then they don't recommend hat wearing at home because it increases chances of SIDS so rather contradicting advice.

Only in the first 48 hours do we say to wear a hat as babe can not regulate his/her own temperature. If they get cold (and lose a lot of heat out of head) they use up energy and can become very weak very quickly x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

hello again.. elisabeth, i went to the local leisure centre and was disapointed. There are weird people about and to use the pool is very cheap but no antenatal classes. sigh. where will i find these now? Purley doesnt do them too.

Then i went to town to look for changing bags. stupid Next annoyed me because I like them but they have nothing and said everything is online! grrr. so have to look online. saw some nice ones with compartments in mothercare but they are like 50/60 quid and i cant spend that. so am going to look online now. The bags in mothercare however did have a free changing mat and bits and bobs so am nor sure!!! hmmm

then walked about like a lemon and exhausted myself. am sitting now and had some tea and madeira cake. :)

Hi mayforher welcome to the thread and congratulations :)

Thanks for the pic ikkle. I remembered someone had that bag and had shown the insides, but I couldn't be bothered to page through hundreds of pages and try and find it. I was just thinking I might get it, then I went on the Next site and they only have the ugly blue design left :( I might give up and get a big handbag instead.

Rups most of the changing bags I've seen have the changing mat free regardless of the price, and often a wet bag too. Some come with the insulated bottle bag, but I have no need of that as one comes in the big Tommee Tippee starter set that I've got. It's just really a size and design issue to see what you like.
