Not too much though hun, I have a pack of 27 in my changing bag with his sleepsuits, vests, going home outfit, socks, mittens, hats, cardigan, blankets, cotton wool etc. It all fits.

Only reason I have a case for mine is because towels etc take up space.

Only one of each as all my sleepsuits have feet in and only one of them doesn't have scratch mitts built in x

The one thing I want to buy now is a changing bag but I can't find a nice one. I need it to be under £30 and the only ones I like are nearer £60 :( I've found a holdall on Amazon for me, and I have a voucher so no money to spend out there :) It's not very nice, but I'm not fussed as I'll probably never use it again anyway.

Is everyone that's packing a going home outfit having people at home or something to look at baby in the outfit? I was thinking and list making, but as there'll be no one at home except for us I don't think she'll need an outfit. I was only going to take sleepsuits and vests (oh, and a hat - most hospitals seem to have an obsession with sticking baby in a hat, even if it's really warm!)

Do you not like the changing bags at Next hun?

As for the separate going home outfit, the only reason I've put a separate one in is because it was the outfit I originally bought for Joshua (the baby I lost in 2005) and my nan had saved it, it's rather small so I thought it would be nice for Jakey to wear it home with us.

I think LMM said the hat thing is because it protects against SIDS but then they don't recommend hat wearing at home because it increases chances of SIDS so rather contradicting advice.

  • Afternoon all,

Everyone having a good day? This weekend has been the start of 'operation sort the house out!' i was up in the loft yesterday sorting stuff into proper storage boxes, and bringing stuff for carboots and ebay. i don't know about anyone else but whenever we decorate or get somethig new, the old just gets put up in the loft and forgotten about! Our loft is full of junk!! I figured anything i sell could begin the baby fund (and if i do't doit now, soon my bump will be too big for me to fit through the loft hatch!!).

My DH is trying to finish all the odd decorating bits downstairs, he's just fiishing the tiling in the downstairs toilet as his dad built us a brilliant shoe box to go in there.

Today i have been using turbo lister for the first time, getting bits ready for ebay. It doesn't seem like a huge task, but its taking ages!!

I feel more pregnant today, sounds weird, but its like my bump has grown loads overnight...i like it!

Rups if you find a nice changing bag...let me know, i've not even started looking yet. Do we get a free one form the boots baby club?

    love and hugs to all.

    Me x (19+5).

ps - unrelated topic...has anyone noticed lots of spiders aroud at the moment. I've killed 4 black ones is the last 2 days...1 was crawling on my t-shirt this morning - how i didn't scream the place down i'll never know!!!

I do like the Next changing bags, but they don't look big enough. I want to be able to carry drinks and snacks, hats and gloves for my big kids as well as baby bits. Otherwise I'll need an extra bag to carry for weekends and after school.

That's a nice way to use the outfit, how lovely of your nan to save it for you.

I never understand that advice, because it's far hotter in the hospital than it will ever be at home, so it just doesn't seem to make any sense to me. But I will take a hat as I can remember being moaned at when I didn't for my daughter, and they stuck her in a hideous one that they found.

We're not bothering with a going home outfit KatyLiz as we don't intend to see anyone for the first 2 weeks anyway. We will probably get a nice outfit for the photo that we email out and for when we go to visit people with Bean, but our baby bag for the hospital just consists of the second-hand clothes that we've bought and washed.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • think we have had the same afternoon elisabeth! sorting and moving things to various places, it does feel good but im suffering for it now.

starting to wonder if baby is thinking of coming? over the weekend on and off ive had strong back pains, very low down like when period is due, BH like mad, with low abdominal pains. also had a lot of nausea and loss of appetite. unfortunately, this baby being my third, this could potter on for a few days :(

37+6 today so i guess its all a good sign things are moving in the right direction...
