  • Good luck for today Rebekah!

KatyLiz I don't have this reduced appetite either that everyone keeps talking about - I could quite happily eat all day! I was very ill in the first trimester and I felt sick twenty-four seven, but I still got hungry and when I was eating I would feel momentarily better. I have been feeling a bit sick again recently so not sure if it has something to do with that. I am eating lots of things that I know I shouldn't (nothing harmful! I just mean sweet/fatty stuff) but it seems to be what my body is after at the mo. I must really annoy OH cos I am always moaning about how I can't train anymore and I feel the size of a house!

Ikkle wow, that is quite a haul! Isn't is madness how different people charge for baby things? I went car booting a few months back and there were people wanting 50p an item for stained, very used baby clothes and then at two other stalls I found ladies selling practically new baby gros for 10p/20p!

House is progressing well; plasterer has done a great job and will be back this afternoon to finish off. We've bought him and he his mate a bottle of wine each cos they worked the weekend to fit us in and without them doing that we would have been scuppered! Central heating guys are in today but they might have a bit of a prob getting to stuff cos all the rooms upstairs have boxes full off stuff in them! Have tried to clear a space in each room as best as we can but.... Decorator is in tomorrow so we're off t B&Q after work tonight to buy the paint. And we finally managed to choose and order our wooden flooring on Saturday so that's being collected Wednesday ready for laying on Saturday! Phew, the credit card has taken a battering this weekend, but got some good cashback deals via Quidco and get cashback on card itself so that will come in useful at some point. After this weekend, we will only have skirting and shelving left to do downstairs and then maybe we can start to get back to normal - and then start the nursery!

had our second ante natal class last saturday - it was all about breastfeeding and was really quite interesting. Apparently, babies who are placed on Mum's abdomen after birth have a natural instinct to crawl towards the breast (though can take a bit if time!) and then find the nipple and start feeding. There was a study conducted that showed if babies were given skin to skin contact straight away and breastfeed that they would take to breastfeeding a lot better whereas those that were taken away for cleaning and measuring and not given skin to skin time usually ended up not taking to the breast. Midwife said if for any reason you are not in a position to give skin to skin straight away, there's no reason why partners can't do it instead. Was already planning on skin to skin straight after birth as I'd like a natural third stage of labour but just hope that they don't try and rush baby to the breast and give them chance to find their own way!

A real difference MissMonkeyMoo, I had a proper look while I sorted the bundle out into sizes and noticed some of the stuff still had the label on! Everything in the wardrobe and drawers is brand new but only because I've not had the opportunity to go to any car boots etc (and I love car boots) so when I've joined the selling pages on facebook I've been in heaven lol.

Not buying any more clothes now till after he's here. I will be strong lol.
