  • Hi Rups,

Yes, definitely GP - it threw me a bit as well, but they do shared care in Croydon, so it's wk 16 at the MW, 20wk scan, wk 24 at the GP then wk 28 at the MW again (and GTT at the hospital if you're in a risky category). I think my MW mentioned it at my booking in appointment?

Don't forget to take your notes though - I forgot and she just gave me my blood pressure result. She also nicked my wee pot, grr!

thanks sarara. i always forget that stupid wee pot though. i have one at home so will try and take it with me full. lol. thanks for the reminded of the notes. oh was the appointment at 24 weeks then? I have mine on the 7th of sep and by then i will be nearly 25 weeks. i just realised i booked a dentist appointment for the 7th as well but had forgotten the carpet guy is coming for an estimate. now have to ring and change. i cant keep up with dates etc. sigh

hello ladies this is my first post there , hope you r all ok and congrates to the lady who just had her baby , iam 32 weeks today with my 2nd baby , my first boy just turned 6 this month so we'll have a big gap but we had a mc in between that put us off for a while . this preganancy feels so different that i was sure its a girl :) but its def not we had a couple of scans that showed all the bits quiet clearly ( one in 3d which was amazing !! the scan not the bits lol ) . had a emergency c section with my ds but would love to try for a vbac this time quiet anxoius about the birth now that i keep dreaming about it !! maybe i should stop watching midwifes programes lol .

:jHello, I'm mostly a lurker but wanted to say Hi  I'm expecting my second boy in December (I'm 26 weeks) and had an EMCS with my first.

I have found everyone really supportive of my VBAC, and due to the circumstances of my first birth (failed induction, 44 hour labour and baby being 15 days late) the consultant has agreed to my wishes that I am allowed to go up to 10 days over (all being well), at which point they will do a planned c-section rather than induce me. In my PCT they will induce you with one lot of hormones (although I think they use a balloon thingy here), or they will let you go as far over without induction as you are happy with. For me, it is important to know this time that I won't be induced, although obviously I am hoping for a straight forward VBAC well before it gets to that point :rotfl:.

I find it funny when people ask if I will be 'trying' for a VBAC. As far as I'm concerned I'm as likely to have a natural birth as anyone having their first baby, and you wouldn't ask a first time Mum if they were going to 'try' for a vaginal birth, would you?

MMM Bless you. Sounds like we are racing each other - I'm due 2 days before you, but you appear to be winning on the engagement front. As for your OH, fingers crossed it's just stress and worry about whats about to happen and how it will change things that is causing it.

I have to be honest, my DH has been lovely. I've been struggling just to get showered and dressed. I have a nap afterwards I'm so tired. DH has taken all the chores off me now aside from clothes washing - but he's not really happy about me doing that tbh. I just can't stand and do anything.

I have had boob pains (like pre period pains), and a couple of period style pains (bit like my ovaries are throbbing - again a normal period is due sign for me) the last two days. Not all the time, just off an on. Wondering if that's a sign that my body is gearing up for something. Got next to no sleep last night because I had such bad heartburn - again not something I've really suffered with. Today I feel rotten and have decided not to bother getting dressed. I'm just sofa surfing. I'm going no where and doing nothing.

DH has made me a picnic on the coffee table including a flask etc so I don't have to get up aside from going to the toilet. He's popping home about 3 to take the dog out and check I'm ok before going back to work (he has flexy hours and went in late today because of worrying about me and the dog rolling in another dogs poop).

Can any of the second timers (or more!) tell me if special breastfeeding tops are any good? I've been looking and they seem really expensive and they look quite fiddly to use? I was planning to get some cheap stretchy vest tops/bandeau tops from primark to wear under regular tops and do underneath layer down-top layer up!

Also, I got an email from Vertbaudet with a really good offer - £15 off when you spend £20 (full price items only), free changing bag and special prices at this link when you enter code 4854 at the checkout. Not sure if you need to be a new member for it to work, I registered a while ago but didn't order anything.

I've not seen my GP at all for antenatal care, I only see the midwife or consultant. Maybe it differs from area to area.

Fur Baby thinks he is a parrot, he's so far spent most of his time either sat or laid on my shoulder, he's currently asleep there now lol. The pigeon has gone, don't know if it has flown away or been got by a larger bird though as there was a lot of noise this morning.

I'm just gonna get ready to go to see the anesthetist, then we get to go out in the rain. Fun Times.

Told my nan about how my ankle is bleeding water not blood and she thought I was winding her up lol. It's still trickling after 3 hours, might have skinny ankles by tonight lol x

Ikkle that doesn't sound very good - did you knock the swollen area on something or has it just happened spontaneously? can you get a MW to take a look while you see the anesthetist? I once had an awful reaction to an insect bite on my shin, swelled up to the size of an egg and then I knocked it on something and the skin burst due to the swelling :o It oozed for ages and I got a nasty scar.

LittleMoog, given the time of year we'll be having our little ones layering is the way to go I reckon. I'll certainly be wearing two layers most of the time. For the rest of the time I have a breastfeeding blankety thing I've been given and might investigate a shawl as well (I have a nice one but probably should get another which can handle baby fluids better!). Some of the breastfeeding tops seem to just have a flap that opens up - don't think they'd be too fiddly, but they don't look that flattering either :)

I liked the 'clippy' drop down cup vests for nightime as you don't need to wear a bra with them, but other than that I just used to wear a cheapy Primark vest under a normal top- normal top up, vest down and there's nothing much to see. In the summer I would just wear a normal vest and feed over the top of it, but that does mean a bit of boob on show.

H&M clippy vests were my faves http://www.hm.com/gb/product/98617?article=98617-A

Thanks :) Does this sort of vest have built in support then? I have rather large boobs (38G atm, expecting to go up a bit once milk comes in) so I guess I might need to wear a bra underneath as well if there's no extra support?

If only bravissimo would make a nursing version of their amazing vest/pj tops, as they're the only thing I find comfy to sleep in normally :o Definitely wouldn't work for feeding though, as they're quite restrictive in the boob area!
