I've been testing some breastfeeding tops for the M&B awards, not allowed to name names yet though! I will say, one was great and I bought myself another from the same company, one was ok but I generally only wear it to sleep in as I'm not happy being braless! And the third was awful and I constantly felt like I was exposing myself. :D Before though, I went for a combination of Sainsburys vest top which isn't a strappy one, and a loose open shirt. Works fine and much cheaper.

I've also found Royce nursing bras good for a big chest, they're the only ones I've found where you still have two separate breasts not a mushed up squish! :D

Twinklie How lovely is your husband leaving you with a flask and picnic.

It's raining again now so I get to go home early - wooo! Have booked a last minute INdian Head massage tonight. I've never had one before; I normally go for full body massages but was a bit worried about lying on my tummy for so long. Hope the Head massage is as good as I want it to be!

  • Afternoon allCongratulations rjh and good vibes to kitten_pie as well - really looking forward to some good news from you at some point today :-)I now just have 2 working days left - eek, but then should be around more on here, will aim to post at least once a day rather than lurking, although never can keep up. Re not sleeping, I had this all last week (34 weeks), where I would wake up for no reason and be awake for hours. It seems better again this week, although still getting up to go for a wee which annoys me, I was always a 9 hours straight sleep kind of person, but don't feel as bad I would normally with interupted sleep.I have a long list of things to do once I start mat. leave, now categorised into would be nice to do, must do, DIY stuff - how sad is that? My aim is to do one from each every day. First one will be buying some plain white sleepsuits and then adding my own patterns, I am no expert with the sewing machine but it looks pretty simple and I am starting to hate the gender specific crap in the shops - I want dinasaurs but they are only on blue clothes, why can't girls like dinasaurs?? Anyway before I go on for ever will go finish boring filing at work
  • Sorry for no gaps in above post, think my laptop is on its last legs, just as well I give it back forever on Friday
  • Hi ladies,
Not updated for ages...well since i introduced myself! Thank you for all the welcomes...
I've been working shifts last week (kills me and messes up my body clock even more than pregnancy), and DH and i went to Edinburgh festival over the weekend. Was so lovely getting away and spending time together, i just didn't realise Edinburgh had so many hills!! I'm normally a gym bunny, but felt like i had never done a day of exercise in my life - had to stop halfway up most of the roads to catch my breath! What a beautiful town though...definately going to go back when i'm not carrying an extra person!

Just a quickie about exercise-is anyone still exercising? or are people just doing antenatal exercise (aquanatal/pilates/yoga)? I'm still going to the gym but taking it a bit easier that i would do normally. I've also signed up to an antenatal pilates class, and want to give aquanatal a go - but i don't swim well!

Congratulatios to all those that are having mummy cuddle, seems to have been loads since i joined. Good luck to all those due, and hugs to everyone struggling with sleep and being uncomfortable. I'm only 19 weeks, but i already struggle with sleep so i hate to think what i'm going to be like when my bump is a lot bigger!

I have my scan next tuesday..i'm so excited although a little nervous. Its really early at 8.30 so DH and i are going to baby stuff shopping afterwards...what was the first thing everyone bought?

Anyway, this was meant to be a short post to say hi as i've been lurking and catching up on my phone (not that easy to post from it though) and i've gone on for ages!!

    me x
  • oh i forgot to say...and don't want to seem ungratefull...but whoever updates the due date list - can i be changed from 22nd Feb to the 22nd Jan?

    many thanks me x

  • Hi Elisabeth and welcome as I didn't say it the first time

Re exercise I am now 35 weeks and still just about cycling but less than 3 miles at a time now. I did "normal" pilates until about 28 weeks, but the teacher had to keep amending the positions for me and it wasn't really fair on the rest of the class so I have switched to antenatal now, but it isn't anywhere near as hard so not getting as much out of it.

I have also been to aquanatal, the pool is only about 1.2m deep so no swimming required at all. I also do preganancy yoga once a week and have continued some hill walking.

That all sounds like I am a complete fitness freak, which I am not at all, I have never set foot in a gym and couldn't run to save my life. However, I feel so much better and more flexible for continuing with even gentle exercise. I have had 2 days working from home doing not much at all and my pelvis is really stiff and stairs hurt. I know yoga tonight will sort this out so my advice is keep it up as long as possible. My pliates teacher taught step and went running until the day she went into labour
