Congratulations Ferrety - love the name Heidi too. Hope you're feeling less bruised soon. Have you tried arnica tablets? I've heard they are great for the bruising. Also Cussons Mum n Me do an arnica bath soak that I've bought that's especially designed for after birth, and it seems to be on offer all over the place at the moment.

Sorry I missed you this morning BCS - hope the induction has been successful and you're having mummy cuddles.

Best of luck for tomorrow Kitten - how exciting that you'll get to meet Lady Boyd so soon. xx

Finger crossed that the curry works rj and you enjoy your date with your OH. Pleased to hear you Mum has settled in. xx

Well I've just done a proper bit of baking for the first time this pregnancy (steamed sponge puddings - a recipe from here - gone for the spotteddick version crossed with golden syrup sponge, so very naughty) - they are sitting in the fridge waiting to be zapped in the microwave when Moon is back from shooting. :) Think we may have to break out some of the crème fraiche to take off some of the sweetness - not sure if that'll go or not though?

Well I've probably got around an hour if not less until Moon is home, so I'm going to go and back Bean's hospital bag. Didn't get around to washing the towel for mine today as realised that we actually had a mountain of ordinary clothes to wash that I wanted to get on the line to dry in the sun, as I know tomorrow is meant to be pants weather. Still, got 2 loads washed, dried and put away today, and Moon and I went on a short walk this afternoon. :)

Enough procrastinating, off I go ....

Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

I'm just sorting out clothes that my Bessie has given me for little man. They were her little boys and kept in a plastic tub. I'm assuming this means I don't have to wash them? It's just new and obviously dirty clothes you wash isn't it? That makes me sound well thick. Ha ha.

Balls, there is loads of it...it's all 3-6 months or bigger though so plenty of time I guess.

I've just finished packing Bean's bag for the hospital - I see what people mean about those Boots change bags being small now. Half the bag was taken up just by the nappies! I have to hold the zip together to get it done up and I haven't packed a blanket in there for going home with as there just isn't room - have left a post-it note on the car seat to bring a blanket for going home, so will put it in a plastic bag nearer the time and leave it in the car.

This is what I packed in there (only used the second-hand stuff that I've re-washed as I've left some of the new newborn stuff in it's packets unwashed as we're obviously not sure what size he'll be):

    2 x newborn vests,
    1 x tiny baby sleepsuit (up to 7lb 6oz)
    2 x newborn sleepsuits (up to 10lb)
    1 pair scratch mits
    1 hat
    1 newborn padded cardigan
    2 muslins
1 pack of large cotton wool pads
1 pack (27) newborn Huggies nappies
1 individually packed Pampers newborn nappy
    1 pack of nappy sacks
1 Philips Avent bottle (just in case) - the free one you got from the due date club

Can anyone think of anything I've missed (not that I can fit any more in, but I could have an extra carrier bag in the boot for top-ups)?
