And if you want tales of odd people on maternity wards (scroll past if you're apprehensive)...
The woman who'd had about 5 kids before but was so flaked out by the delivery she had to be yelled at by the staff that "YOU MUST FEED YOUR BABY" at three hourly intervals. Then her hubby showed up at the start of daddy visiting time, dropped the toddler off with her, and vanished off out for the rest of the day meaning we had the delights of this toddler banging the ward bins constantly (poor Erin would jump a foot in the air every time) and running around pulling back curtains and looking under them.
Obnoxious breastfeeding woman from hell - the formula and teats were kept at the nurses' station and so you had to do a Weakest Link-esque walk of shame to go collect one... so I went to collect a teat (note - not even a bottle of formula) and this evil cow just sat and tutted and glared and muttered at me all the way there and back... so I made sure to do the next feed with my bed curtains back - so she had to see me juggling a baby, a nasal gastric tube, a bottle of expressed boob juice and me desperately trying to coax this tiny thing to take some milk by mouth too. Evil cow never did apologise and no doubt has a glowing career harassing bottle feeding mothers in cafes.
"My premature baby trauma" woman (I wanted to strangle this one with a breast pump) - this one was delivered onto the ward at some ridiculously late hour with all the midwives issuing praises from the heavens for her amazing birth (at full blast - they never did manage to get a woman onto the ward late night quietly). She then proceeded to use the bedside phone to ring about 10 friends to tell them about her premature baby ordeal... baby was 1 day early... then 30 minutes later to ring them all again to relay the details of her first breastfeed... repeat at hourly intervals until the will to live was lost.
The dad who was kicked off the ward on social services' say-so.
The mum and visitor who almost had a physical fight because visitor was saying baby was suntanned and mum said it was jaundiced.
Another not only curtain peeking sibling - but one who'd climb on the ready-made up beds, on the windowsills, in the sinks while no one bothered to try to stop it.
The three who stared at me like I was going to try to steal their babies because I didn't have mine beside me in a cot as she was on NICU.
That's why I asked for a separate roomWhich they've still not invoiced me for

The bit between the two scans is the worst I think, all my 1st trimester symptoms vanished and I didn't have movement (for sure) until the week of my 20 week scan so I was the same. Hang in there, soon will see baby again
agreed, that first half of second tri is horrible. I think yesterday was the first time I felt "properly" pregnant and I'm 26 weeks on Tuesday!
sorry my prediction was off RJ....It CAN'T be long for you now.0 -

RJH the wifi says that you can't download or stream, catchuptv doesn't work but my Netflix seems to. Long may it last although have to give the iPad back today kept it longer than I should already and don't feel comfortable keeping it with me when I go to the labour ward. Don't want to risk it being stolen. Getting nervous now not long to go.
It is getting harder for them to find the heartbeat which is worrying first thing before I feel her kick. It is because of the amount of fluid in there. I am now bigger than I was with the boys due to all this fluid soalooking forward to being able to move again and bend.
Can you tell I have no visitors with my random chattingwindscreen on the car is being fixed today so no OH till later and then I have the mother too. Midwives have been put on guard.
