LadyM as far as I was aware, you can opt for c-section now they've changed the rules, whether or not a consultant would say it was what they recommend? How annoying that your consultant doesn't seem to have any understanding of ME though. Like you say, maybe your MIL will be able to get your point across for you, and you can get an outcome that you feel more comfortable with.
I wouldn't have a C-Section unless I felt it was absolutely necessary. It's not just about the M.E and my health, but also about being able to care for my baby. If I go through a natural birth and have a major relapse, then my baby's care is going to suffer. My MIL says a happy mum is a happy baby. I know that my M.E is severe anyway and that I'll have alot of support from my DH and his family, but I still want to be able to care for my own child and I think that the fact that my consultant doesn't understand my illness is why he said that I wouldn't need a C-Section.
Fortunately, my MIL understands my illness more than most so she's my confidence.lol.2019 Wins

That's what I meant (although maybe I didn't put it very well). What I was meaning was like you say, you wouldn't be asking about a c-section if you didn't think it was in yours and baby's best interests. I wasn't suggesting for a minute that I thought there wasn't a valid reason for you to have a section, but rather that I thought that they'd changed things so that people could choose to have one now regardless, without having to justify it, so I couldn't understand why your consultant was saying that you couldn't have one. Although, like SM says, I obviously had got the wrong end of the stick about the new legislation0 -
Hello everyone!!
Seems I'm jumping the queue a bit!
Scan went well. Baby is 3.3kgs which I think is over 7lbs at 36+5. However went onto consultant appt and bp was 180/120 thru repeated a few times and got sent to main hospital. Also had protein +++ in urine and the mild headaches which I thought were due to the heat mean they've said I've pre eclampsia. I felt ok this morning!
Now in delivery suite. Got two needles in my arms. Two infusions going for bp which has come down in the last hour to 130/82 :-) got the pleasure of a urinary catheter too
They're talking about inducing or c section tonight. Baby appears happy in there though. Really didn't expect this this morning!
For everyone on Facebook we've not told many ppl that I'm here so I'll prob post on our group for now but not on my page. Just too many texts etc so keeping quiet lol. Will keep you informed as best I can but of course I'm here with no phone charger and I never got around to packing that hospital bag!!
Haven't read back properly but hope everyone is ok and sending the boldies huge labour vibes xxx

Ohh good luck LMM, they won't let you eat because they are keeping c section options open and eating could delay things.
AFM, I don't have toxoplasmosis nor have I ever had it and I haven't got Cytomegalovirus. Still waiting for a couple more tests to come through did another GTT this morning just in case I have suddenly developed diabetes in the last couple of weeks.
Spent the evening having a little weep, the symptoms are the same we had with the boys and as you know the outcome wasn't good. Just feel like history is repeating itself and still don't know what I can do.
