  • Hi Elisabeth and welcome! You'll get loads of great advice and tips on here - don't worry that you haven;t bought anything yet. OH and I didn't start buying early on either and we still have a few bits and pieces to get now and we're three weeks off our due date! Lol. You'll find that there are plenty of offers at various places throughout the year, so whilst you've still got a few months to go, don't be in too much of a rush to go and buy the major items as Boots, Toyrus etc will all be doing promotions at various stages where you can often save 20% off the price.

LMM I've been feeling that pressure in my pelvis too over the last week so I am hoping that means LO is getting ready to make an appearance! Can't believe we are in the top twenty now, not much longer to go!

Wedding actually wasn't too bad in the end! I can't remember who else responded to me yesterday (sorry, memory is severely impaired at the moment!) but I think they said it might do me good and they were right! It was nice to get out and see people and the wedding itself was only half an hour long so not too bad at all. Managed to hang round for a couple of hours afterwards, then we went past Tesco's on the way home and bought a box of Thorntons which we scoffed in one sitting! Naughty!

I do have to say though (and I am not a snob by any means) I was so disappointed that some people didn't make any effort whatsoever for the wedding. I'm not criticizing peoples individual style, but I do think there is a certain standard to adhere to! One couple turned up late to the ceremony, they looked like they were on their way to being goths (lots of black but not the full on commitment!) - he had a black shirt on with a very dubious dried on orange stain on the back, and she had on a strapless jersery top with a lilac bra very plainly on show for all to see underneath. Like I say, I am no snob, but really? At a wedding?

Got lots to get done today, all odds and sods left to do downstairs to finish off the renovations (Hang curtains, bit of varnishing, hang pictures etc) so hopefully we'll be finished by the end of today and things can get back to normal. Still have a bit of painting to do on the landing and varnish the stairs but that is not so urgent so I'm feeling calmer about things now! We'll still have our bedroom to do (needs a complete overhaul) but we just don't have the time to do that now so it will just have to have a really good tidy up for the time being and then we can look to refit in the new year. The spare room is also our junk room at the mo but again, we plan to move baby across into that when they're a little older so no point in doing that all up to have to redecorate within the year. Still, from where we were eight months ago, the house really is looking pretty good now!

I'll stop babbling now, hope everyone is well and that you have a great Sunday! x
  • Well morning everyone!

I woke up just after 7am so had a good night, feel quite refreshed now. Just having a cuppa and going car booting. On today's list of things to so are put up border in bubba's room and paint the wood work. That will probably take me longer than expected. Hope I don't melt. Am leaving the border for OH as I don't trust myself not to make it wonky lol.

Hope everyone has nice plans for the day. Sending labour vibes to the boldies and hugs to anyone that needs them xx

  • MMM I know! Was doing the list yesterday and nearly fainted when I saw I was 19!
You've done loads to your house, but feel good to finally be near to finishing. We're hoping just to gloss the stairs/landing woodwork (is a bright desk red) all the doorways, bannister and even the loft hatch. And get the new carpet down. Wanted to repaper the big tall wall but doubt we'll get to do that. Our bedroom will wait until next year too.
Try not to overdo it hun, it's easy to do especially when you're near finishing.

    Right off bargain hunting! Xx

Worst nights sleep so far for me! I think I managed about half an hour in the end. It was so hot that I was feeling physically sick and in a sweaty mess. I'd usually head for the bootsales but I'm far too tired and hot to bother today.

I'm jealous of everyone higher up the list, I've just had enough now and October feels a long way off. I'm probably only thinking that because I am so grumpy and tired today though!

LMM - hope you get some good bargains, have fun.

MMM- Glad the wedding was ok in the end. It sounds like you've got such a lot done in your house, I don't know how you manage it!

Hi Elisabeth :) I've still hardly bought anything at 33 weeks. I'm finding I don't like any of the pink clothes and there is a really limited choice locally, so I'm not making any progress. Good luck for the 4th! A lot of the neutral nursery bedding and borders etc are gorgeous, so I'm sure your nursery will still look lovely.

Kitten - hope you're feeling better today.

  • LMM Promise I won't overdo it! I have started to feel tired more now, so I intersperse rest breaks with tidying up a little bit here and there. I'm going to see if Mum and Dad will give us a hand with a couple of things (they are always offering to help!) so should all be ok. Just about to get dressed, then I'm off to Ikea for some storage baskets and maybe a quick mooch in poundland (my favourite shop!) x
  • KatyLiz hugs hun, it's horrible when you don't get enough sleep. I always end up coming downstairs as I am conscious that I fidget a lot when I am so awake and I don't want to disturb OH! It's hard when you're in the last trimester to get comfy and then if it's too hot...... Don't really have anything to suggest I am afraid as I have been struggling myself! But you're def not alone! x

Hey guys. Omg what a rubbih night sleep. My back was killing me and my restless legs were playing up something shocking. I managed to get off to sleep about twelve. Then about one international chav wars broke out right outside our window. There was crying fighting committing and revving of cars. Apparently I missed the notification about international chav war night. This happened so many times through night with different groups and normally our area is quite quiet. I took some codeine I the end for the pain and drifted back off but cos of noise I was constantly interrupted. Gonna be a very long day.
love you lots like jelly tots :o

Another one here for the crap nights sleep. Then when I did go to sleep got bombarded by inboxes from someone on facebook about something I'm selling and because I wasn't replying she kept messaging lol.

Had a really strange dream that someone from my OH's work broke into our house while I was upstairs and he stole lots of stuff including OH's mums ashes and OH chased after him and the guy tripped and the ashes got spilt. Really strange but we've scattered mums ashes so they aren't in the house anyway. :/

Katy I know what you mean about October feeling ages away. I feel ready to drop already and can't imagine 6 more weeks of feeling like this. Got consultant on Wednesday and should find out if I'm being induced or not. I keep telling myself I'm only just due in October so to count it as September really lol.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I didn't sleep well either - woke up with hip pain (had my foot raised on pillows for the swelling and think they were too high), back pain and needing the loo on at least 2 occasions throughout the night. On a plus side, I didn't wake up feeling absolutely roasting as I have done recently as had my new fan on all night. Hope it's not driving the electricity bill sky-high though.

I've decided to get some Raspberry Leaf Tea today (35 weeks today), and looks like Waitrose have it on 3for2 which works out the cheapest at the moment according to mysupermarket. Was hoping it may be in the Holland and Barret penny sale, but no such luck.

Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

I had a more reasonable nights sleep last night - but that's because we moved the mattress downstairs and slept in the living room. Had the fan on all night too. Like you Sexymouse I'm worrying about the electric bill!

Had a terrible upset stomach last night though. Really bad cramps, feeling sick, soooo hot I had to have a cold bath and loads of pressue in my bum. Not sure if it's body having a clearout or if it was because of what I ate last night. Didn't feel great this morning either. I just have a feeling that labour is near...
