I also like Lola ...but then I don't watch Eastenders so the only association I have with the name is 'L-L-L-L-Lola' and I loved Dolly until brains of britain chose it!!

I just LOL in the office at that - I had the same reaction when Stacey Solomon named her little boy Leighton as that's the boy's name I had chosen, I was very relieved to be having a girl!

    Congratulations on V-day Sa-ra-ra-ra! :)

Congratulations to Gillybean, Chrissy and Bufger on the births of your babies.

Back from midwife and town. Told midwife about my extremely puffy feet and the fact that they don't go down unless I elevate them for about 3 hours, and she said it sounds perfectly normal - she tested my blood pressure and urine as routine, and both of these results are ok, so nothing to worry about. She weighed me and said that my weight is perfect, and bump is measuring on target at 34cm (33+5 today). Bean still head-down and she's written 4/5ths palpable (not sure what this means though). Also had to have another blood test :( to check that my iron levels are rising again since being put on iron tablets. I told her about the grape-nut flakes and raisins I've been having for breakfast too (she'd not heard of grape-nut flakes, but then neither had I before coming on this thread).

I had a voucher for 2for1 on Starbucks that I printed off from the link on MSE, so Moon tried the new Berry Hibiscus Refresha drink (he wasn't that impressed, although I had a small sip and quite liked it, but it contains green coffee so didn't have my own), and I had a decaff iced latte. We also went to Poundland and Moon bought a 4-pack of Twirls and a 4-pack of Picnics for £1 each. Will go and get one in a minute. :)

Getting my Nana's sofas today, so having to get rid of our ones - had put them on freecycle and gumtree but haven't been able to get rid of them which is a shame, and they don't have fire stickers as they were MIL's so quite old, so charity shops won't take them either. Bit sad that they'll just go to the dump though as there isn't much wrong with them.

My Christening presents just arrived! :) They are so cute! They came in a little box with a ribbon around it with the correct coloured flower on the top, and then a hot pink organza bag to put them in. One girl has rose as a middle name, so she is getting the pink one, and the other girl has violet as a middle name, so she is getting the purple one. I'm very impressed and they weren't too expensive either. The seller was great and in contact with me at all stages too, which is great. Wish we were having a girly so I could get one for our little one too.

    Well I'd better go now.

Hugs to all who need or want them and labour vibes where appropriate.

That's a pity, the other option is to try ebay but if gumtree & freecycle didn't work... We will have same problem soon getting rid of some old beds/mattresses that were left when we moved in.
  • Thank you emsbet, LMM and twinklie lizziebellfor the info on the pads. I was told Mothercare was quite good hence why I was going to buy them! May need to rethink this.
Katyliz - I'm glad mw was able to reassure you;)
Re: breast pads - I haven't started using any yet but with tommee tippee too after reading reviews. Cheapest I found is 50 for £3 at Tesco btw. If anyone finds it cheaper elsewhere, please share the wisdom;) thanks
SM - hope Bean comes when MIL is away so you can have your time alone with him.
Bellola - I'm glad you had a good day
    Gillybean and bufger - congrats!
    Happy V day Sa-ra-ra-ra!
    Chrissy
    - thanks for the birth story. I'm glad you're both doing well.
I ended up not going to the mothercare event last night as was too tired. I'll look for another one now though. Today has been chores day so far and I'm meeting up with a friend for a coffee later so I better see if I can squeeze some studying in between. So hard to concentrate when all I can think is the baby and what I still need to buy for him/her:o

    Urgh, stressful morning :(

had growth scan this morning and as usual was lots of waiting around, had scan and baby is estimated to be 4lb 11 which is a good weight. Then saw consultant who said his growth has slowed and I will need another scan as its looking like he may be struggling. The clinics were full so instead of being seen at 38 weeks it will be 38+5 - not a major deal but does seem a little late in the day to be worrying about it ! anyway if he hasnt suddenly caught up i will be induced then.

I will need to be extra vigilant with my movements and Im hoping i can request an extra appt or 2 inbetween now and then to see my midwife for a bit of reassurance,

what worries me is they dont know if he is growing albeit slowly or if he got to a certain point and has stopped, but the only way to know for sure is to have a weekly scan which of course they wouldnt allow !

anyway, How bloody hot is it today  im off to lie under my fan and catch up on my sleep :D

Honestly I do wonder why they bother telling us stuff sometimes. They just say stuff that really freaks you out, then leave you to deal with your thoughts. I'm sure ignorance would be better. We've been told a million different things all the way through and it's not like we can do anything about it other than follow normal advice about movement etc. But you then dwell on it and stress yourself out, which surely defeats the object.

I'm sat with my feet up on the coffee table because my feet have turned into giant sausages. :(
