Had chest X-ray as Doppler on legs. I don't have a blood clot they decided but could have gallbladder problem
But they don't know. Codeine happy face ań come back if gets sorer.

I very tired now

You can get a few given to you to start with in hospital but you do need your own packs. This will depend on how long you are in there for but 2 packs is a good start anyway I reckon.

Breast pads, not even sure I took any, your milk doesn't come in till a few days after the birth anyway- then you'll need them!!

Think I went through 3 packs of the Tesco pads in all but I didn't bleed that heavily after the first day. I'll admit though I used leftovers for the first period afterwards which DID resemble Texas Chainsaw Massacre territory.

Did your doppler hurt? when I had mine I could have happily smacked the woman doing it it hurt that bad so not sure if she was just being unnecessarily harsh. Hope it's not your gall bladder, gall stones are a pain in the jacksy. x

Colostrum hunni, baby's belly is tiny and the colostrum is super super concentrated and full of all the goodness they need xx

Katy sorry the scan wasn't as expected but sounds like you have a good midwife to reassure you.

moneypenny, I think for the first few days it is costrum (sp?!) and some milk but after a few days it really comes in and you can tell your breasts (if like mine) go hard and square and feel like they are on fire (I could feel the heat coming off them). For those who aren't planning on Breast feeding I found wearing really tight bras helped and as horrible as it sounds. Not washing my breasts until they had cooled down, although the warm water helps to relieve them it then takes longer for your body to realise you don't need the milk.

My first too hunni and we are all learning. You do have a type of milk at first but it's colostrum and is really thick and creamy and looks different to normal breast milk but it's full of vitamins and things that baby needs and then the more you feed them their little bellies grow and your proper breast milk comes in. x

I didn't know either when I had my first, I wondered why I had a clear liquid coming out of my boobs just after I gave birth it's really bizarre, even more so when the milk comes.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who replied to my question earlier. I am due to see my mw tomorrow so will ask her and will look at getting some pantyliners too. I kept putting off the kegal floor exercises figuring it was too early too worry but I think that I will definately be starting them now!

KatyLiz, glad mw was positive and reassured you about babies size.

Re: breast pads, I think I will buy some early on (maybe in a month or so) and carry them around with me as my mum said when she had me (although it never happened with my brother) her breasts leaked fairly early on (about 5 and half months pg). She said the first time it happened she was in an ice-cream parlour and had just placed her order when her top felt damp. She looked down to find leaking breasts and promptly burst into tears!
