Beautiful baby boy Fluff!! How are you doing?
Hope everyone's ok, I'm still lurking and stalking you all even though Teddy is 3 weeks old now!
Re changing table, we wanted one but didn't get round to getting one and to be honest it would have been a waste of money! At 3am when Teddy likes to explode with poo, I'm so tired that a changing mat on the bed is all I can manage! Plus, I change him about 10 times a day so have a mat downstairs too, otherwise I'd be up and down the stairs like a yo-yo!

Ikkle is right sm, those with VIP access have been buying the stuff up for the last three days. I used to have VIP access when I had a credit account with them but since I closed that down and opened just a pay as I buy one I don't get it anymore. I do think it's a little unfair especially with departments like the baby one where they get snapped up. They should save half of it for general sale IMO. I'm really cross with myself as there were some baby gros in there I loved but I didn't get them because DH said there was no point as people would buy stuff for us. Also every time I picked them up in store I talked myself out of it because of the price
Re changing tables, we're not getting one as a) there's no room and b) baby's room is a box room so we will be using the box to put the changing mat on then all the nappies etc will be on the shelves next to it. I'm not sure I'd have bought one even if we had room as they seem expense for what they are and also I've not seen many I liked. My sister has always changed hers on the mat on the floor and managed fine
We are finally going to put the stickers up in the nursery today
Hope you are feeling better LMM and I hope you and your daughter are ok after yesterday's scare rj

Want my birth story...?
After a bit of a stoppy/starty labour (contracted all night, but stopped when I went to hospital in the morning) my waters broke some time on the Thursday afternoon, I went to hospital and they confirmed I was in established labour and booked me in.
Laboured all afternoon only to stall at around 6cm dilated some time in the early hours. Blood pressure was always a concern with me so I was put on the synthetic hormone drip to get things going again. Wow! That stuff really works! Couldn't believe the intensity of the contractions and after a few hours was ready to push. Pushed for three hours to no affect and was taken to theatre for a ventouse to try to reposition Fred's head, then forceps with a possible conversion to c-section.
Finally given a spinal block in preparation of all that - the contractions on the hormone drip are MENTAL, particularly with no pain relief other than gas and air - so felt finally comfortable for the first time in days.
Failed ventouse, failed forceps, ended up with emergency c-section. It's not the labour I'd have chosen; having got so near and pushed for three hours (proper pushing too - broke all the blood vessels in my eyes and didn't scream like you see on OBEM) I'd have much rather pushed my baby out than had the section. Unfortunately a combination of a not great head presentation and the shape of my pelvis meant that Freddie just didn't want to come out. Sections are great if they're medically indicated but they're not some 'labour-lite' alternative to pushing your baby out.
Whilst things were fairly physically traumatic, the care I received from the midwives, the anaesthetists, the obstetricians and the surgeons was awesome. My local hospital gets a bad press at times (it's huge and in a fairly deprived area) but they without doubt made what could be a really frightening experience much less so. They were calm, in control and above all really, really kind.
sexymouse, I was expecting a girl. My little Muffin was always female and I was worried I'd feel odd if I had a boy. You know what? It's utterly irrelevant. As soon as they put your baby on you, you realise that was the baby you were always supposed to have. The moment I held Freddie all thoughts of a girl disappeared. I know it was difficult for you to find out that Bean was a boy - if you have any doubts left at all, trust me, it will not matter one bit once he's here x."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
There will be an abundance of Next baby clothes on ebay in the next few days - a week always the way unfortunately. I'm glad we bought the few bits we really loved while full price, none of it's showing online in the sale and I'm not good enough for a VIP slot lol. Am off to Morley today to pick up some bundles of baby clothes I bought so hoping there is some nice stuff in them xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Just got back from next sale but everything lovely they had out yesterday was gone at 8.45. Oh well. Got a couple of things but not what I wanted. People were going crazy, I've never been before as their clothes don't fit me.
Re changing tables we will probably just get drawers as well. Had a quick look at ikea yesterday but got annoyed at their "baby premium". In the kids section £129, same style but much bigger in the normal bedroom £99.

Awww Fluff he's gorgeous and thanks for posting your birth story... I've my birth plan to write this afternoon, I wasn't going to have one.. Was gonna just go with the flow, but mw is suggesting I put something down... Reading your birth plan I still don't know whether to bother as it just goes to show anything can happen... You have got a lovely present at the end of it though!
BTW can I refuse a forcep/ventouse delivery in favour of a c-section... Don't like the idea of them dragging baby out, I'd rather have a c-sect! Anyone know??
Had a rough nights sleep.. Went to bed with back ache and fidgeted all night, didn't help having DH nudging me everytime I snored until he finally went in spare room at 03.45hr! because of me snoring!!! By which point I was wide awake til I got up for brekkie at 7am.
Have just been in spare room and he's jumbled up all my piles of stuff to go in hosp bag that I'd sorted yesterday... And they're all on the floor...
Hope all other mummies to be are well... I've just realised ..ONE CALENDAR MONTH til due date.. Woohoo!!:j0 -
Hey everyone.
DH persuaded me to go to a gig last night. I wasn't going to go because the place isn't very disabled friendly but I went anyway.
It was such a good gig, apart from the fact that I almost fainted twice and almost fell down the stairs. It wasn't even crowded and I missed my favourite song.
I managed to go back into the gig but then afterwards, I felt worse so had to go outside and wait for DH and his friends.
I normally get a bit dizzy at gigs because of the loud noise but I've never felt like that at a gig before! It was so horrible and I'm not sure if it was because of the loudness, the pregnancy hormones, the M.E or all three!
I still feel a bit dizzy now.
But despite all that, it was great to do something normal. I'm really feeling it now with the M.E but I only normally go out to do mundane things and it was nice to be able to do something fun and it was a good night. It's one of my fav bands too so it was an opportunity I didn't want to miss, but it did take alot of persuading from DH. The place really isn't disabled friendly though!2019 Wins

I kept trying to post yesterday and the stupid thing wouldn't let me log in. RUDE!
Anyway, was at hospital for 31 week appt. They are so pleased with me I only have to see community midwife for 34 week appointment, then back to hospital for 36 week appointment. Yey me!
However, as we move next week - everything needs to be done via the new area hospital. So had to get all my notes photocopied yesterday ready to move. Baby is head down and on the 95th percentile - they said at the start they were worried he wouldn't grow properly. Ha ha. I know it could still be a lot of waters, but it's nice to know he's a good boy growing well. Although I've been struggling with his kicks the last 48 hours - he's a strong little so and so.
Fluff Freddie is beyond cute.
Oh and I still can't find a play gym I really like - think I might be being too fuzzy.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
