I have a bad back and would have even lost without my changer for little one. Its ideal height for changing clothes as well as bums I had the trofast system for daughters nursery previously.
love you lots like jelly tots :o

I've got a changing table from Ikea, we were given it from someone on facebook f.o.c. I have a bad back and so it's ideal for us as means I don't always have to bend down. The keeping tidy isn't a problem as I love storage boxes lol.

We've been out to town for a few hours, OH treat me to a carvery which was nice, although I couldn't eat it all. Then we went to Primark, bought a few cute t-shirts for bubs, but bought size 9-12m as they looked very small, have just compared them to the small sizes we have and they are the same size as the 0-3 and 3-6m stuff we have.

LMM hope you feel better soon, I think you are naturally warmer when pregnant, I'm always roasting and have windows open etc and OH says he is frozen x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

I thought that would be perfect (was flipping through an old IKEA catalogue) but they don't make the changing top for the Trofast system anymore  I'll keep an eye on ebay...

Thanks for the thoughts on nappy bins. Think I'm just going to get a pedal bin, a carrier and empty a couple of times a day.

Am trying to persuade OH to brave the Next sale tomorrow. Not at a ridiculous time, will aim to get there at 8.30ish. See if there are any baby bits then can pop to some other places at 9. Also going to nip to Asda to get some maternity pads & breast pads. Need to think about this hospital bag!

Should moses basket top sheets be a sort of thick almosty fleecy feeling or plain cotton like ours?

We were planning on buying a changer but I'm so glad we didn't, if you have an active one like I do, it'd be a waste, he's been rolling back to front from 14 weeks, and even with my hand on him he can roll right off the mat. I could never have used one after that.

no changing table here either - plan to use top of drawers with a changing mat

re movements - midwife said to me 10 a day as well - though i think anything out of the usual for you re movements you should speak with midwife

it was my last day at work today - it feels surreal - very strange, lots of hugs and gifts, got £60 of kiddicare vouchers which i guess we will get a highchair with in a few months time.

37+4 today and really feeling it, belly now rests on legs when sitting down, not nice. i will be pleased to get my normal shape back as being pregnant does prevent me being as active. would be nice to get back to wearing all my other clothes as well

re feeling hot - the last few days i have felt hot in the afternoons, my cheeks feel like they are burning - i am putting it down to preg hormones.

have a nutritional therapy client tomorrow at 11.30am - after that i can start to relax :)

Rebekah - the moses baskets sheets I had with DD (not planning on using one this time) were jersey, like thick t-shirt material. I think most are like that, I certainly haven't seen any plain cotton (like a shirt) type ones but they may well exist.

We had/have a chest of drawers from Mothercare that have the extra gutter around the top to hold a changing mat - when you don't need the changing mat anymore the guttering can be removed and its just a normal chest of drawers. We used it a lot with DD1, and found it handy to have a toy bouncy thing that suspends from the ceiling above it to distract her with.

With DD2 she was in the same room as her sister so I got used to changing her on a mat on the floor of the lounge during the night, so as not to disturb DD1. I kept supplies in both places and just used whichever was nearest/easiest. If you're downstairs in the daytime you may not want to be trekking baby up and down the stairs for a nappy change, especially if it was a difficult birth!

If you go for the mat on the floor option though, can I just caution you about the Sudocrem?? My DD found the pot on the floor and proceeded to entirely cover herself, her hair, the carpet etc in the stuff while I wasn't looking - took forever to get it all out!

Personally I've tended to change the baby from the side, possibly because I was used to the changing table, or because that's the way you do it if they're laying across your lap? I also remember seeing my MIL covered in a squirt of poo when she was changing one of my nephews a little prematurely, approaching from his feet

rjh - my living room is virtually wall-to-wall Trofast! We have 10 units of the stuff :o
