Sounds like we have 3 in early labour! Good luck Chrissy, Clarissa and rjh090384!

    Hello everyone,

Sorry to disappoint but i know im not in labour . Had my midwife appointment this morning and bubba is still really high up and not really made any progress since fridays sweep. I don't even think she did the second sweep so instead we are defo going for the induction on thursday night. Must say very dissapointed as we sooo wanted to go into the birthing centre but that is out of the question now unless something very dramatic changes in next 48 hrs.

Hubby feeling very sorry for me has gone and bought me a new phone. I've been after one of those smartphones for ages and now i've got one. Its quite a basic model but to be honest im not a big mobile phone user, its more the gimic of having one. So whilst I may now not worry about bubba coming the way we wanted, I have a new toy to play with! lol Also means I can send baby pics to family and friends a lot quicker than uploading them from camera on to laptop and doing it that way.

Sounds like it might be down to a game of paper, scissors and stone! I like both of those names so can't help you there. We also found girls names hard thats part of the reason we were so pleased when we found out we were having a boy. We'd already picked a name and its stuck ever since. Just waiting for the little monkey to make his appearance now!!

Sorry to hear that Clarissa. Keep bouncing on your ball, drinking raspberry leaf and bonking! ;) you never know!

If not at least you have a date when you know something will be done. I was saying earlier it feels like waiting for Christmas but you don't know when you wake up if Christmas will be on that day or the next or if you will have to wait much longer.

Thanks for the support everyone, we're doing better today. my husband was really supportive yesterday and made me go to bed to sleep while he looked after baby. I really needed the rest and feel so much better today. Turned out the reason Luke was crying was he was hungry (I discounted it because he had been fed only a couple of hours before). It seems that he wants food more often now, even though the midwife and the hospital had said that every 4 hours was ok, he's demanding food sometimes every 2 hours, which I guess means he's doing well! Did anyone else's newborns feed this often, even with formula milk?

I was able to give him some breast milk so I feel better about that too, though I still think breastfeeding is not for me!

Good luck Chrissy and Clarissa and anyone else I've forgotten to mention, hope you have your babies soon xxx

AMC - Glad to hear your doing better :). I'm also having the induction as well. Hoping it goes ok, bit nervous if I have to have the drip though. I think with babies its all a game of trial and error - one i'm going to go through very soon!! My lil man moves loads all the time so i'm expecting he's going to want to eat a lot too!! Hoping to give the breastfeeding a go although open to bottle as well. Whatever works best for us all.

Sooo hoping my mother doesn't decide to come down this weekend, would rather she would stay away until the following weekend to give us a week to get used to bubba.

    Afternoon all.

Well back from childminding and looking forward to our last NCT antenatal class tonight, although feeling sad that it is the last one. We've been instructed to bring our diaries etc to arrange the reunion date.

Had my hair cut today, and had a bit extra taken off in case I don't make it back there before the birth. I've booked my next appointment for 16th September (exactly a week before my due date) so hoping that I make it to this, as I'd imagine it will be quite a while before I get my hair cut once Bean is here. Will get Moon to drive me and come with me just to be on the safe side though if Bean hasn't already put in an appearance, making sure that the hospital bag is packed and in the car ready too.

Just realised that I normally plan something quick for dinner on antenatal nights, and I've not even thought about it tonight, so had best go and have a look and see what we've got. Have a feeling it may be creme fraiche and pesto pasta with soya beans (good source of iron and I'm trying to get my levels up) in with salad to go with it. It's fairly quick and Moon likes it.

Hugs to those who thought they were in labour and turned out not to be - it must be very frustrating.

  • Afternoon ladies!

Hopefully my brain is a bit more awake now!
Chrissy hope you're coping ok with the pain. Hoping it won't be too long before its gets started properly.
RJH get as much rest as you can! again hope this stage doesn't drag on too long for you. Hopefully by Friday you'll have the LO at home :)
Clarissa get bouncing! Either on the ball or OH ;) 48 hours is a long time, what a naughty one you've got! He must be really comfy in there!
AMC glad you managed a rest yesterday, sounds like you've got a great hubby there :)
Rups where did you order from. Next you can return in store and I'm sure new look too I've returned there before. What did you order?
Sexy mouse hope you enjoy your class tonight, it's our third of four tonight they've gone so fast! Having my hair done next week I'm so exited, little things lol. Been so long since I had it done its like a jungle now!
Dizsie our midwife said if your waters have broken you could have a bath at your house as "it's your own flora" although she didn't recommend a bath at the hospital. I see where your coming from though with risk of infection. Would think a shower would be ok as long as you're not shooting water up there!
Jedi hugs for your awful dream :(
Mishka hope your ok and she didn't upset you, hugs
Emsbet happy 34 weeks to you :D

Well I went for my 34 week check. All is well, baby is head down again after being breech last Monday. Not engaged yet. He's very wiggly so I'm unsure what he's up to. I keep reading there's not much room left in there, well it's not stopping him!
Our antenatal class tonight is going to the hospital tonight for the tour! We get to see the birthing centre and the main delivery bit. Also the birthing pools etc if they're not in use. Hopefully OH will be home soon an anxious to get there on time and park etc. Having bacon butties for tea. Hadn't planned so got nice bacon from a lovely butcher near my dr as a treat. Everything is lovely and reasonable price too. and I'm really, really hungry!
Got some glucose tablets for my hospital bag too as collected my pills for, the chemist. So one more thing ticked off the list :)

Hope everyone has a good evening!
