Fingers crossed for you girlzmum, I'm still undecided if I should have a section or go for a normal delivery, 8 weeks until I see my consultant and need to have made a decision before then

Enjoy your pampering and surprise baby shower lol xx

Goodluck with your scan girlzmum! Fingers crossed he's turned for you!! Thats lovely of your family to do you a baby shower.

Bella, I have the apple jogger and will be changing it to the pear, its a dream to push, I used my mums 'light weight' umbrella fold for two days last week and it was so awkward and heavy to push in comparison. I know the pear will be heavier than the apple but all the pluses out weigh the minus for me. It doesn't bother me folding it, it doesn't take up much more room than the apple either as it all stacks together but as I don't drive its not often we go in the car, only if we are off somewhere with DH. Also I like it being big and sturdy, makes me feel the kids are safe, silly I know!! They are bringing out the new apple 2 pear soon but don't know when!

We got the Gracco Symbio from Toys R Us for £199, it was a toss up between that and the Mothercare Orb.

Thanks for all the advice re; pain relief and a waterbirth, something to think about at least :)

Had the GP last night, finally got refered to a dermatologist for my hyperhidrosis - not sure if they'll be able to do anything while pregnant but hopefully I can kick start something at least.

Pampering booked in for next week for me girlzmum, nails, toes and hair - can't wait :D

Thanks Sam for your post, I don quite a lot of walking school run playgroup etc and we have a vauxhall zafira so fitting it in the car won't be a problem. Storing it in the house I have a big under stairs cupboard which it would fit in, it'll give me an excuse to clean it out

    Xx

Best of luck with the scan Girlzmum.

I think I'm becoming more and more clueless when it comes to pushchairs, might have to wait until we move house to work out how much I actually use the car. I think it would be much easier if they gave us less choice :p

    Hope your feeling ok today
Mrsj! Dida, if your lurking, hope you and Rosa are doing well!!
Not long for you either now sparkles!

Claree, I did my birth plan last week, so 34+6, although it did just consist of me saying ill see how it goes, but its my third so I know roughly what will go on, it is good to chat through everything so you feel more confident in your choices but the best thing to do after that is really talk it through with your OH, that way he can help and support you in what you want!

Claree, glad you got referred! Even if they can get something in place for after you've had lo that would be something!

Bella, same here with school runs etc and it fits in our estate fine with plenty of room for shopping and/or the dog. I didn't like the pushchairs when one looks like its in the basket either. Mine fits in at cupboard fine, but to be honest mostly its just left up as we have a rather large hall!

Kerri you will probably just see one and know its the one you want! Well I did anyway :D

The main point of my birth plan which is in bold and underlined is to get me anti-emetics immediately! I've had HG through my pregnancy and since about 28 weeks, it's been amazing if I've made three days vomit-free even with two doses of drugs :(

I still can't believe baby is due this week  Got lots of other things going on this week, thankfully, to keep my mind occupied...not sure if that was a wise decision but we're in the middle of re-fixing our mortgage, OH getting a promotion and arranging a rather large purchase. I'm sure the hormones have chilled me out as I'm usually stress-city about these sorts of things. Oh yeah, and my degree results are due this week too :rotfl:

Midwife today, really hoping for a successful sweep as baby was originally due tomorrow so crossing everything that she's a bit more ready and I won't need the consultant appointment on the 3rd July (if I go over, there's a risk with c-section because of the gallstones so they want to start trying other induction methods earlier than usual 12 days).

  • Morning all, hope everyone is having a good day so far.

We've gone for the Graco Quattro Deluxe travel system, the 'I love my bear' version from toys r us, as they throw in the cosy toes, raincover etc too. I think with the car seat base it came to less than £250. If anyone is looking in Mothercare, I think the Trenton system is essentially the same system. It is big and bulky, but we have the room for it in the house and have a 4x4 so it fits in the car no problem, even with the dog (large lab) and shopping too!

Stressing slightly over DHs leave, as he started a new job in April, he's not entitled to paternity leave, so work have said he can take two weeks annual leave, and anything over that as unpaid which is fair enough. But they want him to fix the dates now (understandable really, as other people might want to book leave too). But obviously we not know exactly when bump will arrive, we can't really afford for DH to take the unpaid leave and don't want DH to spend two weeks off sat waiting on bump! So have no idea what he should ask for.

There is def too much choice! Went into Kiddicare to look at car seats and there were so many! I said there should only be 3 choices - a big n bulky one, a lightweight one, and pretty patterned one!
