Thanks for all the advice ladies. Really like the look of he m&p sola, seems good value for money to :) those of you who got it, did you buy the carrycot for it? Or just using it without?

P.s Good luck Dida! Looking forward to some baby news :D

Good luck dida! Great attitude too - at the end of the day, the main issue is just to get baby out as safely and as painless (for you both) as possible - however that happens.

Thanks for the info on prams - we've just started looking and I quite liked the oyster. Seen the Sola on offer via bounty emails, too.

Bangton - thanks for the 'heads up' re mothercare. I thought you could add anything to it; baths etc plus I thought it guaranteed those products! Hubby wanted to buy them outright whereas I was opting towards the storing until just before baby due, so thank you!

    Xx

:D Exactly what I had thought so I picked up a catalogue from outside mothercare weeks ago and circled everything I wanted ready to set up. Today I finally get chance to go and it's nothing like I expected! Which is a shame because what with working up to my due date and swiftly heading towards the third trimester not to mention home improvements I was looking forward to ordering absolutely everything and just having one big, fat parcel delivered!

Also, lots of people are asking me what they can buy baby so I thought it would be lovely just to ask them to put £10/£20 towards the Babyplan as everything would be covered and it means I don't have the guilt of feeling people are splashing out too much on us!

Well it's 21.10 and I am gagging for a Cheeseburger happy meal! I don't usually eat meat but this week I have ate a mcdonalds almost everyday (not always meat, sometimes cheese dippers!). I feel really naughty as my baby was measuring 2cm bigger than my growth chart (lengthways) and when the midwife was ticking off her list of things to discuss with me, healthy eating being one I was like 'ummmm moderately' and she said 'your baby is long..don't risk it being long and fat it can mean a C section'! Then proceeded to tell me she was told her baby was a big one and when it arrived was 7ibs 9 and it was actually her who was the fat one! :rotfl:

So I should eat better this week...I have bought all manor of health food and none of it appeals!

    Ladies what would you do...

My bladder stings... Just moving sends sharp stinging feelings through it, but there's no pain or stinging when I pee and I don't need to pee any more than usual. My partner says to ring NHs direct now (he's read about premature birth if its an infection) but I say it wil wait until tomorrow. Should I wait? I'm not after medical advice... More a reassurance than a uti (or whatever) has been experienced by others, left and you're fine!

Good luck Dida and good luck to all buying prams - its all such a minefield!

    !

Just put the cash away each week and order it all (through quidco) at a later date.. there are usually codes about for 10/15% off too.

I added the stuff I wanted to a wishlist and ordered it all at once.

Sounds more like pelvis or ligament stretchy pains tbh.. UTI's hurt.. it is like peeing barbed wire and grated glass and after you have 'finished' you want to squeeze out more.

    Hello All,
Could someone add me to the list please, little boy due 15th October. I tried to do it but on my phone and the format of the list get messed up.

Dida sounds like baby will be here soon with or without intervention, progress is happening just slowly. By the way your name always makes ms chuckle cos my little boy calls his dummy a "dida" ;)

Very cross/ upset with my husband this evening. Won't go into why except to say he made it worse by saying I'm just being hormonal and moody! Silly man! Anyway to cut a long story short, since he was ignoring me when I called him due to a computer game, I have pulled out the power lead and hidden it until he "grows up"! Since then he has not apologised but has done some organising and some dishes. He also has not asked for the power lead back. Anyway sharing / !!!!!ing on here cos where else can you vent? Fuming- grrr!

Thanks Pigpen! I didn't know about this wishlish. That's a much better idea with the cashback as well! It's all turned out for the best!

Toothfairy - so far I haven't bothered with the carrycot but that's partly because we are going to use a baby carrier for the first few months (hopefully anyway!!) My partner is in love with the idea of strapping baby to him and sniffing his baby head..and so am I for that matter! Even if the carrier doesn't work for us though I will probably just use as is as I was assured it could be laid flat for a newborn.

Butler Helen - poor you. Are you sure it definitely feels as if it's the bladder? I'm only asking because I thought I had one (I was peeing tons and never feeling like my bladder was empty). I was also getting huge, breathtaking pains when I turned over in bed but no burning while peeing. I had a wee test done and it turned out to be ligament pain but it did really hurt in a worrying kind of way!

Oh you will have more energy than me as I became seriously ill shortly after giving birth. You will be fine.

I'm sorry to hear that snoz, that must have been so hard. Glad you and Toby are doing well now.

Dida I have my fingers and toes crossed for you. Sorry you are having such a hard time. I'm sure you'll come back and tell us all it'll be worth it.

Pushchairs - I'm pretty much set on a baby jogger city mini gt. It's second on the which pushchair best buy list and it has a one hand fold which is practically one step! I'm thinking that I'll have so much to think about with baby that I need everything else to be as simple as possible. I've heard that with a baby you pretty much have to learn to do most things one handed too. I'm going to drive about an hour to get one and really test it out.

There's a mama & papas outlet near me and I was considering a sola too. It's a two hand fold tho so the baby jogger is winning at the moment.

Well I would say this isn't a uti, as its not like peeing blades but its such a horrid sharp, never-felt-before feeling! I will probably get it checked out anyways, even if they do declare I'm healthy.

Fluffy socks - feel free to vent! I'm here and listening :)

Good luck Dida! Here's hoping baby makes their appearance soon and you can feel a bit more comfortable!

Toothfairy - I went for Mamas and Papas Sola based on the fact it was on the Which website as being a good pram and was within budget. I knew I didn't want to spend above £500 on a pram because that money could be used elsewhere for baby and we are having work done on the house as well. As it happens we have a Mamas and Papas outlet close by so the Sola would have been £319 and actually cost £140 - new. Another option like COMP was the urbo which is very similar but having tested them both over and over again we just went with the one we had seen on Which as I'm no expert!
    !

You arent in the northwest by any chance? Ive been looking at the sola and £140 is a bargain! Im visiting mamas and papas at the weekend to test a couple out as im torn between the mylo and the sola!
  • oh dear fluffysox, OH and computer game can be a disastrous partnership. Its great that you hid the lead! I would have been pregnant sooner if it hadn't been for the no-s*x-box!

Helen hope it all checks out ok tomorrow.

There's a mama and papas outlet in Huddersfield - loads of solas & urbos & zoom. Solas are £125 if they have been in showroom (slightly used) and £160 otherwise.
