We went for a silver cross travel system. I wanted the traditional looking pram shape and we also wanted to be able to clip the car seat on too. I know advoxe ia not to use them for too long periods so we wont be but it is nice to know that we xan if we're just popping to tesco. Obviously not had my baby yet so not used it but tries it out a lot in the shop and seemed very easy to fold down and perfect size for our car boot too. Its the 3d system we have done for and it had mixed reviews when I read online but in the end we went for what we wantedNew first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!

Hi toothfairy we went for the oyster, I loved the flat it is narrow and folds up small. I spent ages reading reviews before hand and I came to the conclusion that it mostly had great reviews and without paying a grand I couldn't see a better option.
Once I had my heart set on it I got a barely-used second hand one from a Facebook selling site for £140 :-)0 -
Uggh! I'm in agony! Back from 5 hours at hospital - they told me to go in to get checked out for my waters breaking.
Went in - had lots of tests and a scan - mw's arm "up there" again twice - she was a bit flummoxed as the test showed that my waters hadn't broken but she couldn't feel any membranes around the baby's head which suggested they had gone - so baby's head is at the moment resting directly on my pelvis without membranes cushioning it - and boy can I feel it - I can hardly walk! (the 40+ mile drive there and back has been agony - I've been swearing at the OH every time he drives over a lump!).
The membranes are what she thinks have come out over the past week since the sweep rather than the plug (I thought I had the plug the week before - so that figures) - and there have been absolutely heaps of the stuff - probably around 2 cupful's (again, had it been the plug, there wouldn't have been this volume!).
So as she thinks my waters have gone (despite the test) as there's no membranes in place to support the water. I am in for induction tomorrow otherwise the risk of infection is greater the longer its left. No longer dreading induction - thanks to peoples messages and experiences - what will be will be.
My cervix has dilated 3cm (thanks ball and the chill out time yesterday!) and is soft - so all favourable - but I guess we will have to see how it goes. Period type pains have been there all day - not helped by the mw's arm!!!!:D
So if baby comes tonight on her own....I will be trying for a homebirth still.....but if not - I am in at 10am tomorrow - to be honest, I now just want the pain to go, and to get back to normal - I am so sore
Minimuffin - I wore a dress for both of my sweeps - much easier - and am taking a dress to hospital to wear after the birth as already I am sooooo sore - so figured that I wouldn't want to have to struggle into trousers!
Hope everyone else who needs to, gets moving soon! Thanks for your messages of support x

Good luck Dida! I have been quickly logging on inbetween naps to see if you have updated. Ohhhh I am so excited for you!!!
Being 3cm dilated is really good. I didn't go beyond 3cm at all! Wow! If I am not asleep tonight due to me keeping one ear on my little man, it will be because I am thinking of you!
Good luck!!!0 -
Good luck dida. Hope she makes an appearance for you. Thanks for the changing table idea - picked one up from ebay today! Bargain!
Pushchairs - we have gone for an icandy cherry.

Good luck Dida! Here's hoping baby makes their appearance soon and you can feel a bit more comfortable!
Toothfairy - I went for Mamas and Papas Sola based on the fact it was on the Which website as being a good pram and was within budget. I knew I didn't want to spend above £500 on a pram because that money could be used elsewhere for baby and we are having work done on the house as well. As it happens we have a Mamas and Papas outlet close by so the Sola would have been £319 and actually cost £140 - new. Another option like COMP was the urbo which is very similar but having tested them both over and over again we just went with the one we had seen on Which as I'm no expert!
I'm so ill at the moment. I've had bad hayfever since Tuesday which developed into a cold that I just can't shift. I've been off work but actually feel worse then ever. Had an awful restless night, can't take anything and my partner is in Spain with work so I am missing him way too much! I could do with a fat, man hug from him right now! My top teeth hurt...thinks that's sinuses so I'll have to go to docs although I hate my docs and don't want to! Urggh! Being pregnant is hard when your ill..no antihistimines, decongestants...so it's just an increase of Vit C and hoping I get better soon!
Since my partner's away though I had to drag my sorry self to Sainsburys for the weekly shop and on route thought I'd call at Mothercare to see what this Babyplan is about. Anyway, if anyone was thinking of it it's total carp! I thought because our house is in a state of disarray at the moment that it would be good to get things ordered, know what I needed to pay and to get it delivered closer to the time my baby is born rather than storing it. How wrong I was. Basically you pick your items, none of which are labelled so you require a member of staff to follow you round with a clipboard to tell you what is and isn't included (most things aren't - no bottles, highchairs, toys, baby baths, changing mats etc although larger things like cots, prams and very selected carseats are - I have those already though!) Your items are also not guaranteed so if not in stock at the time you pay off balance, they will just recommend an alternative item. So yeah I thought it was an amazing idea but it really isn't!
So I'll just have to go on a massive shopping spree in August when house is finished : )
That's all from me...bit of a negative post when I read it back!0 -
Good luck dida! All the signs are positive keeping my fingers crossed for you.
We had the Quinny buzz 3 for last baby i loved it so comfy for baby and lovely to push and i would have used it again for new baby but gonna need a double buggy this time, I'm looking at the icandy pear at the minute xx***** on the road to debt freedom *****

Good luck dida! Great attitude too - at the end of the day, the main issue is just to get baby out as safely and as painless (for you both) as possible - however that happens.
Thanks for the info on prams - we've just started looking and I quite liked the oyster. Seen the Sola on offer via bounty emails, too.
Bangton - thanks for the 'heads up' re mothercare. I thought you could add anything to it; baths etc plus I thought it guaranteed those products! Hubby wanted to buy them outright whereas I was opting towards the storing until just before baby due, so thank you!

Thinking of you Dida - sounds like it really won't be long now until you have your baby girl in your arms, hooray :j Sorry to hear you are in so much pain and discomfort thought and that you had a long old trip to the hopsital. Everything crossed for a home delivery tonight, and if not, a positive induction experience tomorrow.
Toothfairy - we have gone for the Babystyle Oyster. Obviously not road tested it yet, but it ticked lots of boxes for us including the fact that it is nice and compact and narrow (we have a very narrow hallway and quite a small house!) and within budget, but seems to be good build quality. The Mamas and Papas Sola was a close runner but when we compared them side by side we preferred the Oyster.0 -
Best of luck for tomorrow Dida! FWIW if I were in your shoes I'd be going for the induction too. Sounds like you're about ready to go though, hopefully if you don't go tonight you'll only need a little nudge tomorrow :jUpdating soon...0
