Have followed this thread since i found out my daughter was pregnant, she's not due until 4th june, but has been in labour since 10am yesterday, waters have gone, she's had a show and her contractions were every 10 mins yesterday, going to every 4-5 mins today lasting for 50-55 seconds. The hospital won't let her go in yet because her contractions aren't frequent enough, she is very uncomfortable and is finding it unbearable to stand up let alone walk.

I'm absolutely fuming with her treatment, she has phoned 5 times today alone, and has been told her notes are saved but everytime she has phoned she has had to repeat the process because they can't find her notes.

Sorry for the rant - just angry and anxious

Congratulations to all the new mums on here.

This is awful. I would be tempted to drive her there and refuse to leave until she is seen by someone. Fingers crossed that her baby is delivered soon and that she can get some much needed rest.

    OMG I'm number three:eek:

I had my last day at work today, got some lovely gifts and a £60 voucher for mothercare :j we have everything we need but i'm sure we'll soon think of things we could do with so this will be really handy.

Now for the boring bit, waiting, I hate waiting:( I like to plan things to the nth degree normally so this anything can happen any time lark is a bit weird for me. I've done a to do list of bits I can do to keep me occupied that aren't too taxing.

Got to go for a scan tomorrow as we went in to have the babies heartbeat listened to yesterday as she hadn't been moving much. They were happy with her heartbeat so the scan is just to be on the safe side, it will be nice to see her again, especially as she is now massive! :o Also it's been nice to meet some of the midwives and find my way round the hospital, it's HUGE! They have all been really lovely even tho I felt like a numpty as she started to kick the second they put the monitor on!

Red-Boxer I'd be driving her in and refusing to leave, this is bloomin terrible:mad:

Red-boxer that's awful, I hope they wise up soon, either that or stage a sit in in the hospital!

Watched my worst nightmare unfold on Corrie (from Monday) when the baby was born but had breathing problems 'cause he was so little. I've not watched last night's and I'm pretty sure he's okay 'cause I've not heard anything otherwise but I was in bits watching it! (I understand it's not real btw :rotfl: )

Heartburn (or whatever it was) seems to have gone today thankfully. People keep telling me to drink a glass of milk but I think that'd make me physically sick - I've got a serious phobia of milk...don't ask!

Hopefully she's had the baby now! But if not, just turn up at hospital and cry a lot.

Nope! 10am 'till noon on a Monday.
They also booked my anti-d for one of the mondays and refuse to change it so I have to miss one and try to catch up with it during the next session. Irritating as hell!

That is so annoying! Take a book or something with you to the Anti-D by the way - I was waiting for about an hr and the midwife said that was not too bad - it can be 2hrs sometimes!!

So p'd off on your behalf! Yeah, as others have said, I would just go in. It's not up to them to say if she's coping or not. If I felt I needed to go in I would just go and insist that they admit me! I would maybe ham it up a bit and make out that the pain was much worse than it is too :rotfl:They say if you can't talk or walk while your having a contraction then it's bad enough. I think that's why they get you to phone them - so they can judge how bad the contractions are.

Aw, I can't watch anything like that to do with babies Claree! Even though it isn't real, it's too scary!

Milk sometimes works for me. I usually try that first and then Gaviscon, but if you have a milk phobia then...:rotfl:

Urgh, will do! I'm trying to force myself through Pride & Prejudice at the moment - I'm really not enjoying it but I will finish!

One of the girls in the office watched last night's and has assured me that the baby is fine. I feel so bad for wanting my tiny human to come early now!

I'm kinda hoping my milk phobia doesn't extend to baby milk/formula! :rotfl: I'm sure it won't. It's the smell/texture and the way that it turns so quickly into something so disgusting. I can't explain lol!

Ice lollies help me with my heartburn. Yoghurt helps too but it isn't nearly as nice ;)

    Afternoon,

Littleskintdragon - I used to commute from Llanelli to Cardiff... a nightmare especially on a Friday on the M4 in Port Talbot!!! Thats why I moved up closer to work, couldnt find any work closer to home!!! But meet my OH so not all bad!?!

I get short of breath a lot... just seems to happen!!! Was getting dressed this morning and suddenly realised I was short of breath!!!!

Claree__X - I have the milk phobia as well, could never ever drink a glass of milk. But was in bed the other night and thought a glass would be nice... then I thought was the hell I am thinking!!!
Think the dislaike came from my father being a milkman was I was kid!!!

red-boxer - hope ur daughter is ok and you are now looking at your beautiful grandchild!!!

I was supposed to have the week off to move... well that didnt happen... so havent done much!!! Was ill on Sunday so spent the day in the bed!!! Would have liked to come back to work yesterday but it was an extra statory day in work... so decided to go shopping in Cardiff!!! I am known for my bargin hunting... and finally gave in and bought some maternity leggings, how bloomin comfortable... I wanted to leave the shop with them on!!! I never wear leggings as I dont have the right shape!!! so ended spending £70 on 2 dresses, 2 cardies, 2 vest tops, 1 work top, 1 long jumper, 2 non wired bras, leggings and new a bag!!!! Nearly all of it maternity stuff... dont like shopping usually but needed maternity stuff or so I told myself!!!!

I am going to hotel tomorrow night then spa on Friday, having a pregnancy massage so looking foward to that!!! My sister who is 8 weeks behind me, stepmum and step sister will be there... so a nice reunion.

I have my midwife appointment next week... better go as people are asking me where I am having the baby and I have no idea!!! Also looking foward to hearing beans heartbeat, as I am not feeling much movement, maybe one or two kicks a day if that... but the bean is probably taking after me... Laid back!!!! Do panic sometimes with lack of movement!!!!

I am sat in work and my bloomin ribs are killing again!!! But did spend most of the weekend on my back in bed and spent 5 hours walking yesterday... so that could have something to do with it!!!!

Still waiting for solicter to get back to us, to tell us whats happening with the house... spent most of the weekend looking at ranges on the internet!!!

Well... didnt realise my post would be so long, moan over!!! Sorry!!!
