Yeah, it's not unusual to see a return of sickness in your last few weeks. Basically your body's just going into meltdown :D

oh gawd! I'm doomed lol ;)

Did anyone feel sick during their final few days?? I keep feeling sick all of the time and had to run to the loo the other morning. I am eating and haven't been near any infected people either.

I feel sick if I don't eat and feel sick after I do - I have found really minty chewing gum helps a bit.

And I'm not sure about you being the most un-maternal person ever....I am also there! I got up at 5.45am wanting to go to work, despite the fact that its a holiday for me anyway! I almost cried when the OH went off to work telling him I wanted to swap roles!:D

Oh wow - congratulations Missymoo! 34 minutes labour is amazing!

I'm off to ante natal clinic again this afternoon, need another scan as he was measuring a week ahead last time, if he's still big they may be inducing me even earlier (am due to be induced at 38 weeks because of the gestational diabetes) My hips and pelvis are not liking me at the mo so am looking forward to finishing work, 3 weeks on Thursday (or 11 more shifts!)

    30+1.

Hey all, welcome noangel, glad baby is behaving now.

What a glorious bank holiday Monday! Always happens when I'm stuck inside :-( hubby has been really poorly since Friday night, not sure whether its a tummy bug or food poisoning. He is feeling better today tho which is good, he still doesn't feel like going out though.

I was thrown a surprise baby shower on Saturday! It was amazing and I had no idea! Got so much stuff for baby too, I don't think I will need to buy any bath stuff for about a year!

Found my first stretch mark on my belly this morning :-( it's only small but I still have 10 weeks to go so I'm sure it will get bigger

I was given 2 pots of baby talc at my shower, but you aren't supposed to use it are you?

    Hope everyone's well

Lucky you! It absolutely chucked it down all day up here!

That's so lovely that you got a surprise shower! :)

Yes - they advise you not to use talc anymore so that baby doesn't breath it in. You just need to make sure that you dry baby's bottom really well instead before you put any cream on (if baby needs some cream) otherwise your just trapping the dampness in with the cream. There was also that study a while back that led to advice that women shouldn't use it due to increased risk of ovarian cancer - I think more research was needed, but maybe don't use it on yourself or baby just in case.

I had about 4 stretchmarks at 28/29 weeks and now I'm covered! :( I've come to accept them now though, they're just part of the experience I guess! Hopefully you won't get too many. I just keep on putting the bio oil and cocoa butter on them in the hope that it'll make the redness go away quicker and they'll turn that silvery way where you can't really notice them...We'll see.

Hi everyone by the way! :) Did I say congrats to Missy yet?? I think I did, but if not Well done! *baby brain*

Congrats Missy! We'll miss you around here now you'll be up to your eyeballs with 2 tiny ones :(

Raging about the midwifes on your behalf noangel! I went in at 18 weeks 'cause I stopped feeling movement and they were really !!!!y with me but eventually gave in and listened to the heartbeat - possibly to make me go away. All I needed was some reassurance!

Had a nice weekend in the sun, dragged OH to the cinema yesterday to get out of the house as well which was nice.

Not sure if this is pregnancy related but I'll throw it out there anyway - having throat problems this morning, it's almost like a kinda reflux feeling? Sounds crazy but d'you know that way you take a big gulp of juice and it's like something solid going down your throat? Feels like that - but without the juice/swallowing. Feel a bit sick as well but I think it's just to do with the throat pain.

Congratulations to Dippy - glad to hear all is healthy and happy!

Also, big congrats to MissyMoo... well done on the quick labour, sounds ideal. Any ideas what kicked it all off in the end? i'm getting rather impatient! Hope you're enjoying your new arrival x

I am now on maternity leave. Had planned to meticulously clean my car today to pass the time and spend some energy to try and get things moving. And it's rained the entire day! grrrrr. So i dropped my 4yo off at nursery and went back to bed to see if i could fall asleep as i'm sure IF this labour ever happens, it'll be through the night and i'll end up zombie'fied with a newborn. Managed 2 hours kip and now bored. I do all my cleaning on Fri nights/Saturdays when DS is at his dads, so other than a few bits and bobs like updating all the picture frames in the house and unpacking my handbag to now become my change bag and some other pointless things, i have nothing to do! I now remember why i hate mat-leave. But i also hate my mind numbing desk job of over 10 years, so i can't bloody win.....

AND I AM SO SICK OF OPERATION EVICTION! I actually feel like i've imagined this all now and i just can't see a baby/end in sight! I love my bloke very much, but i feel far from attractive at the moment, have the most painful lady parts in the world, and the sex we're enforcing almost daily is proving to be pointless/fruitless! and the daily warm baths, clary sage massages, self-accupressure, ball-bouncing, obviously is just pointless too. I'm so sick of having to make sure my hair is washed (have major OCD issues with having greasy hair, which my hair does get very easily!) and legs epilated and lady garden trimmed etc just in case a miracle happens and something starts out of the blue! I just have no signs of it happening at all soon at all. Baby has been engaged for weeks (ouch) but cervix is still so high it's almost in my neck, no show/plug/, just BH's that i've been getting since Xmas anyway. ARGH! And the constant texts and phone calls and FB messages have well and truly started! even my bloke is at it...pestering for 'signs' all the time (first baby for him, mega excited!) I know it'll come when it's ready, but i am SUCH a control-freak, plan everything so meticulously in life...having such a major thing out of my own control is driving me crazy! Oh, and i feel constantly sick, fat, dry skin galore and my nose is bleeding with gunk constantly as yet again, i've got pregnancy rhinitis/sinisitus. Grrr!

    Labour vibes everyone pleeeease! xx

Sending major vibes your way lola. Fingers crossed it'll all kick off soon!

Nikki I'm hoping it'll go away but I think I have some omprazole in the drawer from before I was pregnant - I don't really want to take it without seeing the doctor but I don't really want to take more time off work to go to the doctor, I already feel like I'm taking the !!!! with fortnightly appointments and anti-natal classes about to start.

Did you not get the choice to do your antenatal in the evenings Claree? I'm doing mine at 7pm. It always baffles me how different things are in different areas when you live in the same city!
