Morning ladies.
Hoping for a sunny day today as im off out with the girls for lunch. My best friend found out she is having a boy yesterday so we lots to talk about!
Feeling really down at the moment. When I got pregnant I was 9st 10lb (id just lost 3 stone!) and 5ft 7in.... now at nearly 36 weeks ive weighed myself and im 13st!! How I dont knowWhen I weighed myself only 3 days ago I was 12st 10lb so 4b in 3 days seems a ridiculous amount really. Dont want to gain anymore
Don't weigh, it'll just stress you out. I put on over 4 st with my first pregnancy, as I thought being pregnant was a licence to seat like a pig :rotfl:. I lost almost 2 st straight after the birth and another stone from breastfeeding/being stuck under a sleeping newborn. I'm finding the last stone hard to shift, but its due to lack of trying more than anything else.
I'm now pregnant again and I know I'm going to put on loads, I don't get morning sickness, but get cravings for stupidly fatty foods! I'm not weighing this time as it'll just stress me out.
Just enjoy being pregnant and worry about losing weight after the LO is born xGot married 13/11/10

Step away from the scales! Realistically, you can't do anything about it til baby is here, so don't beat yourself up about it. I had a major chocolate and crisps craving during this pregnancy and I know I've put on a lot of weight, but knowing exactly how much won't help so I don't weigh myself. If I could've resisted the cravings, I would have, but I really couldn't. Luckily they've eased off now and my body is happy with healthier snacks
Re: notes, they took my green ones at the hospital when DS was born and I never saw them again. They were replaced with some (I think) purple and yellow notes, which were labour and post-natal. At some point when she was visiting after DS was born, the midwife told me she was going to take them when she next visited, to give me the chance to take a copy of them. It's probably another of those things that vary widely depending on where you live.
Instructions sound like a good idea, clarets, I hadn't thought of that. Not that I have teenagers, but I think I had better make some notes about DS so that the in-laws will know what his likes and dislikes are as he is a creature of habit.
How is the bleeding today Pigpen? Has it eased off again?

Is it true what they say about breast feeding being the same as 30minities of carido? I dropped so much weight to start with but I didn't weigh myself straight away and only lasted 6 weeks breast feeding...I think I'd lose about a stone and half by time I got on the scales 3-4 weeks later maybe...can't remember exactly... -.-
I really need to tell my Dad I'm pregnat...I'm 17 weeks now and he's the only one who doesn't know.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
I have just returned home from the most depressing shopping trip ever. How hard is it to find a pretty nightie for my hospital bag?! Everything was beyond !!!!!!! I don't do geriatric or tarty styles!
Matalan do some decent ones.... i had the same problem as you, was just going to wear cheap casual maxi dresses but found some ok and very cheap nighties in Matalan in the end. They are a bit on the tight side though (i ordered normal size thinking as they're nighties they'd be baggy, but transpired they aren't particularly!)
Congrats to Saffa, and the new arrivals to the thread xx0 -
I lost 2.5 stone before I got pregnant too.. I got on the scales last week and have gained most of it back.. depressingly when I had the last one I lost 3lb !!! seriously.. water, placenta, baby... and I lost 3lb... the baby herself was 5lb 4!!!!!
I have barely had any chocolate or ice cream or crisps but I am eating vast quantities of rice krispies, toast and jam but only having 1 actual cooked meal a day and even then it is not every day, at least twice a week I don't have a main meal. I have been drinking loads of juice though so it is probably all liquid! I don't think there is a thing you can do about it, if you are going to gain it you just are! I gained over 5 stone with a couple of mine .. I am going on a crash no-food-just-breastfeeding diet when this arrives!
take the scales and leave them with a friend or relative and stay away from them.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

My dad doesn't know either, nor do any of my 9 siblings or my mother and I'm 22 weeks.. They obviously have no interest in us so they can bog off... I'm wondering how many will actually know before it arrives.
And no.. breastfeeding makes you hungry so you eat like 3 bears and 2 pigs and don't lose an ounce. Any loss in the first 2-3 months is mostly fluid from the extra water and blood during the pregnancy.
I never lost an ounce until I stopped breastfeeding fully. It makes the internal organs go back to their normal non-pregnant place and has no bearing on anything else usually. The extra moving and energy burning of looking after a baby tends to help with weight loss more than anything... but even that isn't guarantee'd.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi everybody (wave) - nice sunny day here too, shame to be at work... but only three days to go, hooray! Am so excited!
Pigpen - hope the bleeding has stopped completely now, horrible for you even if it is just cervix playing up, it's not something you want to see when you're pregnant.
Niknok - I agree with the others, step away from the scales!
TTC40 - welcome, lovely to see you on this thread!
lolamancity - thanks for the tip about the Matalan nighties, I'm goin to pop over to Matalan next week and pick some up, and some cheap massive knickers to use as 'disposable' knickers.
I've started getting some pain in my pubic bone - is this the start of SPD? I don't really know anything about it other than that my pubic bone really hurts now!!!0 -
forgot to mention....their plain'ish bog standard nighties have 2 or 3 buttons on the front too so perfect for breastfeeding0
