    Hi ladies,

Huge congrats to those who have their tiny humans home with them and huge hugs to those feeling crappy - I expect I have all that to look forward to.

Having such an awful week, not baby related but it seems everything else is falling down around me! My mum has 2 foster kids (11&12) and I'm looking after them this week while she's on holiday (back today :j). On Wednesday (I was at work) the older boy got really cheeky with OH for the first time - he's been a nightmare for my mum, hit her and my stepdad amongst other things. Usually when I'd get home I'd go speak to him about it but I was genuinely afraid of what he'd do and I didn't want to take any chances with tiny human.

Yesterday, OH is away to Hamburg on a stag do - boys completely ignore what I tell them to do and then lie about it (despite seeing it with my own eyes!) and I didn't know what to do. Normally I'd have read the riot act but I was standing at the top of the stairs thinking "I don't want to do this" so settled for sending them to their rooms. How pathetic is it to be scared of a 12 year old?

Then OH texts me from Hamburg saying he's having a crappy time and considering getting a flight home this afternoon and I have no idea what to say to that. So now I know he's not enjoying himself and neither am I but I want him to give it a chance, they only got there yesterday!

And to top it all off - I've not been paid. I phoned my agency consultant and he said it's 'cause I sent my time sheet on Wednesday instead of by the Monday deadline. Eh, no. I sent a timesheet on Wednesday for THIS WEEK but I sent him one on FRIDAY for last week, well before the deadline. "I'll call you back in 10 minutes", says he. 40 mins ago.

    STRESS!!

Oh dear - sorry to hear so many of you are having rubbish times.... at least the weather is getting warmer and should be lovely in most parts this weekend:)

I have just come back from our last babyfree break - had a lovely time - did plenty of shopping (baby is going to have Laura Ashley's butterflies as her theme!), went to Ikea (someone on here mentioned they do a great nursing chair - so bought one - only £35!), and generally chilled and ate cake!

On another positive note - my nose bleeds seem to have got better....although my pelvis doesn't - I cannot wait to be able to stand for more than 10 mins at a time!

I am still aiming for a home birth - but obviously that is only the plan (knowing my luck it will be emergency CS!). Also in the plan for the next few weeks are some bump pics.

Congratulations to those who have given birth recently:beer: - I still have another 6 weeks at work so am hoping baby doesn't come early! (the list is getting quite scary!).

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!;)

Which nursing chair did you get in Ikea? I'm after one but we don't have masses of space and I don't want to fork out £££ for one either - I've had a look and bid for some on eBay but not won anything as yet.

I LOVE Laura Ashley butterflies! Gorgeous. They usually have 30% off on bank holiday weekends so worth keeping an eye out if you want to get any extra bits for the nursery :)

We just ordered this for our baby's room (it's also the spare room, but I'm trying to make it a bit more child friendly!)

BIG hugs to all those having a rubbish week.
  • My OH gets relegated to the sofabed in the living room if I have a suspicion he is going to irritate me in the night!

Last night it was his leaving drinks as he starts his new job on Monday, and despite the usual I'm only having a few, I'm definitely NOT getting hammered'..lo and behold he stumbled in at silly o clock, stinking of beer and glassy eyed..is it just me who finds drunken men utterly repulsive??

So he slept on the sofabed :D

I also made him take DS to Gymboree, so I am having a nice quiet time at home, whilst he is having to hurl himself around a softplay, attempting to stop DS braining himself and playing under a parachute..ace :D

I bought this: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90078462/ - its surprisingly comfy! I'm going to add a butterfly cushion and also a couple of fleeces to make it cosy! Its quite bouncy so I can easily rock baby to sleep I reckon! I'd also been looking on Ebay - the chairs either went for an absolute fortune or were quite dirty/tatty. But I am really chuffed with this.

Thanks for info about Laura Ashely - I want the lampshade next but £25 for a lampshade......I think I will give in eventually but for now I have the mat, wall stickers and cushion! Curtains are a bit too light but I might give in to those as well....!!!!:o

No - I can't stand them either - they become child-like and stupid! Mine also gets the sofa if he goes out - and I don't wait up either (nor do I leave any lights on!!! Haha!):rotfl:

Just read through, hope everyone is feeling better today and congrats to all the mummies!

Mrsj28 thats gorgeous! Have just decorated d's bedroom and we were looking for a map for the wall, thats so much more child friendly than the ones I've seen, might just have to show Dh when he gets up. Although have just brought the pear upgrade for our pram so might have to wait now I've finished work!

Feeling exhausted today ds was up all night, think I got about an hour and a half broken sleep, tried to have a sleep on the sofa whilst he was having a nap and my neighbour puts her thumping music on! Annoyed! When she eventually goes out ds wakes up! Not fair I'm desperate for some sleep!!

Sorry for whinge, just feeling tired and sorry for myself!

We have a very similar Ikea chair and it is so comfortable, especially for breastfeeding and rocking baby would definitely recommend!
  • Thing is, OH made a big thing of saying he was going to take DS to Gymboree today as he finished work yesterday, and I kept saying well dont get too hammered thursday evening as you'll feel crappy on Friday. He kept insisting he wouldn't..and then of course he did!

Still, they have to learn the hard way!

He also cracks me up as when he does have to do a bit of child care, I get told how hard it is and how gripey DS is etc...I have to stop myself from saying 'yeah I know..I do it most of the time'!

    Men!!!!!
