Nesting is clearly turning us all into crazy home renovators!! All this talk of tiling :rotfl: And I've just had a quote for some plastering and new internal doors to be fitted.... I think I have this crazy pregnant nesting thing where I think 'if I don't get the house perfect before the baby arrives, I'll never do it'. It's not like the shops will close or all the builders will stop working after I give birth, is it?!

Noticed some new stretch marks appearing today, nice.. thought you'd all like me to share that! What's anybody's top tip for stretch marks? I've been obsessively using Bio Oil since about 12 weeks, and occasionally Palmer's Cocoa Butter stuff (I think it's the 'massage lotion for stretch marks' or something). I know that generally if you are going to get stretch marks, you will, but I'm open to any suggestions that might make them look a bit less gross!

I realise this is ridiculous but I'm almost ashamed of bringing tiny human into my house. Like they'll care! :rotfl:

But we have to endure the health visitor and the mw!!!!:D

mrsj28 - can't help I'm afraid - I too have been plastering (can't stop the DIY thing!!!) myself in Bio-Oil twice a day but I have also been told that if you are gonna get them you're gonna get them - none yet but I am expecting them any day! I reckon eating lots of chocolate will help prevent them!:rotfl:(worked for me so far!!!!! Haha!)

We must all be tiling!!! LOL! I have just been to my new (but not new!) house to sign for my kitchen and bathroom floor tiles - three quarters of a tonne of slate! The guy got out of his lorry and said that he would need some help pushing it on to my drive  thank god the plumber and electrician were there!!!! (I think the delivery guy was also relieved when he saw my belly!).

I have a slate kitchen floor... DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously.. it scratches and flakes and is filthy constantly. It is slippery when clean and looks disgusting when not.

It is a pig to sweep believe it or not.

It looks beautiful.. and much better than the hideous terracotta tiles that are under it but it is a high maintenance flooring

That's what I've heard too, and I have lots of stretch marks on my hips from when I was a teenager. I don't actually care, I'm so excited about having a baby that a few stretch marks here and there (or everywhere?!) are no big deal. Perhaps I'll try the chocolate thing, just in case.. (although will that help the acne I seem to have developed?!).

I used to work in social services child care and have seen some pretty grim houses which midwives and health visitors went to, so I just remind myself about those and remember they will barely notice the thick layer of dust everywhere in my house or the limescale on the taps in the bathroom!.. it's not like they will be treading in dog poo or struggling to find somewhere hygienic enough to sit down....

I used to have a slate floor - properly sealed its great - never had any scratches - needs a double coat of quality sealant though, and needs sealing every year. In my last house I had a sparkly granite floor - never ever again - showed ever smudge and was slippery as hell when dog slober got on it! Now my slate floor in comparison was an absolute dream.....! Never had any flaking either thankfully!:)

wow i really wanna post a pic of my bump at 37 weeks but i think i may scare you lol

my growth scan said baby was 5lb11 at 35 weeks, if thats really true im looking at 7lb 11 at 39 weeks , that would be nice never had one that small before lol.
my friend had a growth scan and told her that her baby was going to be over 10lb and out came a 7lb baby, so i really dont belive them to be that truthful

i didnt get any strech marks with my first one, i used tesco coco butter 2/3 times a day
with my second i didnt really use ne thing and i only got a few
with this one , ive got a few more, but they are not those big red one just a few little red lines and ive been using ne lotion ive got, even e45.
i think it just depends on the pigments in your skin. they do fade in time.

i havent had ne bad days were ive cried that my clothes dont fit this time and felt fat etc, i did with my last pregnancy :), i just dont care this time , im pregnant and yes im fat but im carrying a baby, sod wht everyone else thinks.

I'm quite worried about the size of this one! DD1 was 7lbs 5oz (good size :) DD2 was 9LBS 1 1/2oz (whopper!) So by that rule I should be looking at an 11lb baby!!

With DD2 I asked what they thought she would be, "Oh she won't be a big baby, probably around 8lbs, not much more...."

I'm looking forward to getting MA 11 weeks before bubs is due. New pushchair and bathroom :D we've been in this house for 2 years with no shower!! Don't really know how I've coped. That's probably why our water bill has gone up to £50 a month :(

I'll be looking at Bathroom & Kitchen tiles soon. B&Q have got some really nice ones in. need to check topps tiles too. It's going to be a fuchsia pink bathroom :D
