We must all be tiling!!! LOL! I have just been to my new (but not new!) house to sign for my kitchen and bathroom floor tiles - three quarters of a tonne of slate! The guy got out of his lorry and said that he would need some help pushing it on to my drive :eek: thank god the plumber and electrician were there!!!! (I think the delivery guy was also relieved when he saw my belly!).

I couldn't work out how many tiles I would need but am not even going to attempt DIY as they are all different widths and must be a mare to lay!

I haven't chosen my bathroom or kitchen wall tiles yet - I keep changing my mind so baby could come first at this rate!:o

Wonder_girl it is the correct thread - welcome! What is your due date (I should be able to work it out - but baby brain and all that!) and someone will add you to the list - sounds like you will be just in front of me!:T

IHateDida - slate sounds lovely, I'm going cheap and cheerful 'cause I despise what we've got (they're kinda pink & beige...).

Trying to do a tesco shop for next week when we're staying at my mums so it'll be the two of us and 2 kids and one of us will be off work all week so it's difficult to guess how much food we'll need! I guess I'll just order and hope for the best. That and it's going on my mum's bank card

I'm due 7th June, she is a girl and my first, i'm alternating between being very excited and petrified! :eek:

Unfortunately, I am not doing any tiling. I am however in the process of sanding down the stairs, the 100 years worth of paint and varnish will NOT defeat me!! Not the brightest of ideas, I will also blame my baby brain! :rotfl:

We have our antenatal class at the hospital tonight so hopefully I will feel a bit batter after that. Although, i might stop listening after a while as the class is 5-8pm and i will be starving!

You would be surprised - the slate was quite cheap off the internet - its not Italian nicely cut slate - its Brazilian "off the back of a lorry all different widths" slate!:D:D But yes - not sure I would like pink/beige either - it would show the dirt too much - slate covers up pretty much everything (dirt kind of blends in!)

I'm feeling mostly ready now, just a few things left to buy but we have all the important stuff. I'm glad I have found a thread of like bumped people to chat to

Right, I'm off to walk the dog, I'm then off to B&Q to get some magic paint disolver as the sander is just not cutting the mustard, what did they used to make paint out of, it's like cement!!!

welcome Wonder_girl Thanks for pushing us all down one, a biut less scary!ha.
I am also needing to decide about kitchen and bathroom tiles!ha. No idea what to go for in the bathroom but i the kitchen i just need a splashback style thing or thought a row of 2 metro style tiles along the worktop in a funky colour.
