We aren't sure what we are going to call our baby. We have a few ideas but we are going to wait until he gets here.

I had my scan today and my placenta hasn't moved at all. A nice young man did the scan and, to my horror, I discovered that they wanted to, with my consent, do an internal scan. I was hoping that I wouldn't have people messing about with my nether regions until delivery day. How wrong was I lol

I am now being 'monitored' and have to go back when I am 36 weeks (in five weeks time). I can't say that I am looking forward to the prospect of having a C Section but if I have to have one, then I have to have one.

Evening all, hope everyone is well.

I am term+7 now and induction is booked for term+14 if nothing happens before. Had a sweep today and midwife said I wasn't 'favourable' so unlikely that anything will happen as a result of it. Can go back for another sweep on Friday if I want joy of joys! x

    I've been Money Tipped!
Fingers crossed for something soon Penguin. Hopefully the sweep will work.
I'm enjoying my annual leave prior to mat leave. Feeling very lazy, but can't believe how much baby wriggles when I'm not busy in work.
We casually mentioned names at the beginning, but not really since. I like names that can't be shortened, that aren't unisex and can be easily spelt. Simples!

Thanks Lazywife. We haven't picked a name yet either. Hoping I get a flash of inspiration when baby makes an appearance! x

    I also like:

    Ava
    Katie
    Isobel

Boys names I think are even harder!

    I have a Joshua already :)

    I have an Ava.

Charlotte and Isobel are far too common and boring. Katie is cute but not so much at 30! I'd go with Kate.. much more suitable for an adult (and DD1's middle name)

Lola is nice.. but I am put off as my friend has a Lola with a seriously bad squint so it is now associated in my head with squints.. sorry..

    I'm no use I know.

I want the first initial 'T' with middle initial E or B or F ... so there you go... The only boys name I like is Tiberius.. though OH would probably go with it (Star Treks James T Kirk... middle name.. for those non-geeks out there) I like Toby but it is Gods dogs name so I can't use that.. :p I have several girls names I like though I really want Tallulah .. OH veto'd it with the last 2 but he named them so it must be my turn?

My brother just named his boy Alfie .. again not cute at 30!! and my cousin named his Philip.. boring boring boring!

Hi all, Clare I loveee your wedding pics!! Gorgeous! That dress is stunning :)
Names-wise-I think i prefer charlotte but maybe shortened to Lottie. Very cute!
I have about 3 names for each, Violet is on my list, think it's so pretty but just not sure about people shortening it to Viley? :/
Ihatedida I am so intrigued about your name!!!I have a feeling it's goin to be lush!!
We are also doing up a house ready to move into and tho we don't actually have a bathroom or completed kitchen yet i couldn't resist ordering some wallpaper for what will be the baby's room, went for this as it's pretty funky and neutral
http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-timbuktales-wallpaper/7490d5300/type-i/ and was reduced last week:)
But i love them decals MV.
Had 28 wk MW app today, all good except I had forgotten to take a pee bottle home last time so had to do one when i got there but obviously had been desperate to pee when I'd got up! So could only squeeze out a bit for them! cringe. Measuring perfectly normal, good HB and a 'nice bump' but think they say that to everyone :) Didn't enjoy the blood tests tho and dreading my whooping cough jab next week.
    Hope everyone's well. Saffagal i hope you're ok x

Wow! I love the wallpaper Dippy - very Cath Kidston! I won't be putting any wallpaper up though - we have just spent weeks getting rid of the 1980s stuff that was gracing the walls of our home - not that I can hang wallpaper anyway! But I do love the stars you've chosen! :T

As for the name - its nothing exciting at all - it will be a letdown if you think it is! We could of course change it - if she doesn't end up looking like one - OR .....if it turns out to be a boy and the sonographer has got it wrong - OMG! If thats the case he will be in a pink nursery, wearing pink clothes with pink toys or a while!

Anyone else getting their nausea back? I feel sick if I don't eat and sick if I do - the only time I don't feel sick is when I am eating! This is why I am up at this stupid time when I'm on holiday as I had to have some scrambled egg on toast but now I feel totally sick again!

I really like Tabitha which fits your criteria.

Charlotte's a bit posh for me and Lola reminds me of Barry Manilow. I can't get # Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl... # out of my head... :D

OH is Alex and obviously has the long version as his birth certificate name yet has never been called it.

My nephew is an Alex, but he's just an Alex as my sister said she had no intention of ever using the long version so there was no point calling him it. Only problem is he's forever having to tell people it's "just Alex" when filling forms in as people tend to assume it must be short for Alexander.

Lol. Alfie is my pet hate! Really sweet for a little boy but, as you say, not good for a grown man.

We're still trying to think of a middle name. I like Luke but DH, who is a huge Star Wars nerd, isn't keen because he doesn't want his friends to think he's named his child after Luke Skywalker. I just think it's a nice name that goes well with Oliver and with our surname. I'll just have to keep working on him...

Personally if I was going to shorten Violet then I'd go with Vi (probably because my Mum has a friend called Vi)

I love your wallpaper too, it's gorgeous. I was wondering about something similar for the room that DS is moving into, but am not sure if it would look too busy with the vehicle decals I'm going to put up. Maybe just one wall in the paper http://www.next.co.uk/x513272s1#761053x51, the others in blue and then red curtains. I'm rubbish at decorating, I wish I was one of those people who just seems to know what'll look good together.

Fingers crossed that your placenta shifts a bit, snozberry. Does it need to move very far?

And fingers crossed for you too Penguin, I hope something happens for you soon.
