Still here - contractions most of last night which then stopped again... the fact they come regularly when they come, then stop, coupled with the positive FFN swab (although the test can do false positives) is what's throwing the doctors off in having any answers I think.

Up at the hospital for their clinic on Wednesday (hopefully not Doc Useless) but not expecting any answers then either.

Bags have been done ages, carseat is now in the car (when we finally found the English instructions instead of trying to do it in German)... just hanging around being generally useless at the moment which is frustrating as hell!

Given the doctors do not know what exactly triggers labour they cannot know when it will happen and therefore cannot prevent it and cannot provide answers.. It happens when it does!

Baby will be fine now anyway and you won't need to stay in unless there is a mishap. My 35 weekers were all fine (I've had 3 of them) they fed independantly straight away had no issues with anything other than 1 had severe jaundice so was a bit dopey and sleepy.. that said she is 8 now and still like that lol.

I have decided I am having a new car seat for this one .. Besafe Go.. the other have the Besafe izi Combi x3.. so the new one will match.

  • Evening All,

Congrats to Mrshawarth2b on your babys birth!

Is anyone else just feeling a tad fed up with not being able to get comfy? I know all the second/third/fourth time mums may be used to it but as a first time mum to be, its doin me head in!

Having had tea i've been on my ball and bounced for a bit but had to resort to coming to bed and lying down . Baby not really moved a great deal today so trying to encourage him/her to move a bit to put my mind at ease.

Suppose i'm just a bit bored at night, need to get some books to read. I know i know, i wont be bored in a few weeks when baby is here!!!!

Washing baby clothes tomorrow and finishing hubbys hospital bag.

Anyone know what will happen at my consultant appt on Thurs. Been referrred to her again as had glucose in my wee at last 2 appts. Think I might get a scan but not sure.....so long as they don't slip up and tell us what sex it is, i'd be gutted

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

    Yes Verucca dear. :rotfl:

Just want a house - I am very uncomfy too - and I am only coming up to 28 weeks! My pelvis hurts, back aches and my ankles have started to swell! I can't imagine how it must feel at 40 weeks....:( (not looking forward to that!).

I have 3 sets of injections this week - blood test, anti D and whooping cough - not looking forward to them at all - they will probably have to peel me off the ceiling again!

On a positive note - I have just booked our babymoon over Easter - 3 nights in stratford and 1 night on the way home in a rather swanky hotel! I have told each hotel that I will be heavily pregnant and it will be our last break in the hope of getting nice rooms!:rotfl:(anyone tried this - does it work???!!!).

    Massive congrats Mrshaworth2b! :T

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

That just had me rolling about laughing.. try 11th! haha... cramp in the thigh is this weeks delight!

As for a consultant appt.... they are as much a waste of time as most midwife appointments except you sit and wait for 2 hours i a boiling hot hospital sitting on boney chairs and reading 5 year old magazines.

Every consultant appt I've had has been pretty much a waste of time, except my latest one which was about PPH - I found it quite comforting that they were putting processes in place to avoid the same issues (however unlikely) to happen again.

I've had some embarrassing appointments too where the consultant has been like "why were you even referred". Last pregnancy I had one at 40 weeks because I measured 37. Never again. I will point blank refuse if that happens again. And then had a similar experience when I had one after my ERPC for retained products.

I've never been lucky enough to have an extra scan and yet to go to one that's anywhere near on time.

My next one is at 8:45am, so if that can't be on time, there is no hope. I'm very tempted to take a leaf out of pigpens book and cancel if the scan shows my cyst has gone/reduced.

I've had a different experience with my consultant - every appt was on time or early, even those where a sign was displayed saying they were running late. I found the appointments to be beneficial actually.
(It could well be why you were referred that makes the difference; I am under consultant due to pre-existing BP).

Anyway, just wanted to say, I may be a little quiet; my sister passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon. I wasn't able to be there nor will I be able to attend the memorial as no airline will allow me to fly without a Doc's note, which they won't give me. I'm struggling with being so far away from my family at this time so forgive me if I don't comment much.
