Claretsgirl I'm sure you'll be longing for the boredom when baby arrives and you're rushed off your feet ;)

I'm feeling like hell today and I'm going to have to speak to my boss about working on Tuesday but leaving early for my scan. I know I'm entitled to time off for it but I just feel it's a bit cheeky since I originally had it in as a holiday!

PS. I might be going crazy but I'm sure I can feel *something* coming from tiny human.

Just looking into baby shows after the tip about buying a buggy there for discount. Can't seem to see any happening in Scotland! Has anyone come across any?

What about an Aquanatal or Pregnancy Yoga group claretsgirl - you might find some company there? Are you off on Mat. leave? How long have you got to go?

    This help?

EDIT: No, Clare, it doesn't. 'Cause that was last year. Hmm.

Claree__x, yes I'm sure I will be desperate for a bit of boredom in 7/8 weeks time.
Lovecake, not much advice about getting a buggy I'm afraid. I was very lucky to get a complete silvercross travel system for £38 second hand. It was only used for five months at a grandparents house, so in immaculate condition. Yoga doesn't really do it for me I'm afraid but I do intend to go to some aquanatal classes in a couple of weeks time. I just find the local pool a bit chilly so have been putting it off. I still have membership to the pool at a local hotel for the next couple of weeks so am abusing their facilities every day :-) much nicer, warm pool, underfloor heating etc. I am currently on maternity leave (my job is very physical so I had to finish at the earliest opportunity) but only just seven and a half weeks til I'm due, then I'll not know what hit me! Lol.
  • Hi all, hope everyone is ok. Quick question, does anyone find that baby has really quiet days? Mine has quietened down quite a bit from yesterday, still feeling movement but not as much as other days, sometimes get flutters instead of big kicks so not sure if baby has changed position. Trying not to freak out!

minimuffin12, I'm sure everything is fine. I haven't had much movement today, yet a couple of days ago I didn't get any peace from morning til night (I'm sure that was partly to do with my constant coughing!) I have not once been woken during the night with kicking or movement either. It doesn't seem to make any difference as to whether or not I'm active, never much movement when I go swimming. I would suggest you speak to your midwife if you're at all worried. X

There isn't a set pattern to my little 'uns movements either. Some days he is *very* active and wakes me up during the night and other times he is quiet. I guess that it just depends on how they are laying.

Just be warned though. My midwife gave me The Look when I told her that there are no patterns to his movement. She could have quite easily upset someone but she didn't upset me because I know, hand on heart, that my baby is ok.

My baby definitely has more active and less active days. As others have said, everything is probably fine BUT... if you are worried, do get checked out - give your midwife/maternity unit a call and they should be very happy for you to go in and be checked (heartbeat monitor usually). From what I've heard they don't mind at all if you go in and everything is absolutely fine.
  • Thanks guys, might give her a call later, still feeling movement but more like bubbles or flutters, was getting used to big kicks so i suppose the sudden change has unnerved me. Think baby has def changed position. Its hard to know what to expect when its your first. X

Heehee! Thanks anyway :) The big show that they normally do in April in Glasgow isn't on this year and there doesn't seem to be any others....Ah well

That's a shame you had to finish early. I would be bored out of my mind too! I'm planning on working til 37 weeks if I can, but I do an office job so it's a different story for me. I hate a chilly pool too! Aquanatal does sound good though...let me know how you find it if you give it a go.

I have no pattern at all to my babies movements - he definitley has quiet days and hyper days. I'm guessing it might be because I have an anterior placenta so there might be days when he's lying in a position where I can't feel him as much. Some days he really boots me and other days I just feel wriggling. I wouldn't worry unless you don't feel anything at all. Your midwife should be able to reassure you though :)
