Got to keep an eye on my girls :) plus it's one of the few things I can do while feeding Dewi XD

Rups is good. Andre is very hungry so she is trying to keep up with him! She's doing well though. Has been complaining about his stinky nappies :P

Welcome newbies! Labour vibes to the boldies.

Lola... sorry to hear you've had a hard time. Don't forget everyone is here for you if you want a good moan :) x
  • Hello all,

Nice to see so many newbies coming and chatting. I thought it was going to get very quiet on here after the chattier woman left.

We've had the carpet fitted in the nursery today so we are building the mama & papas nursery set on Monday when oh is off. Then on the 1st feb the pram crib and bedding will arrive!! All very exciting!

For the last 3 days I've been napping quite a bit, not sure why but I've felt extra tired :(

When's the best time to wash everything ready for baby? I'm not due until march but I really really want to wash things lol too excited!

    Hope everyone is well. :)

Hi again everyone! Am 28 weeks now. Had our first NCT class earlier this week, then had a consultant's appointment and blood tests done this morning (bumped into a couple from the NCT class at the hospital) and whooping cough vaccination at the GPs surgery this afternoon. I'd like to think that's all the needles out of the way for a while, but having a GTT next week...

I'm measuring slightly on the large side, but the consultant wasn't too worried. I'm to go back for a growth scan next month which will give a more accurate measurement.

Qute tired this evening after trudging through the snow to the surgery and back, then a snowy walk with the dog, but was making the most of it not being icy underfoot. I expect tomorrow will be much worse.

Got a phone all from midwife earlier, I'm now anaemic which I pretty much already new and also my random blood sugar came back at 7.8, which was higher than last one. Started off at 4 and gradually been creeping up. Already had GTT done Xmas eve which came back in the high normals. Am being sent in to the high risk clinic to have another GTT, had a growth scan as well which is showing bambino to be bigger than average but not huge, lol.

  • We've not had a great deal of snow here thankfully except from a light dusting, only trouble is it looks like it might have frozen so staying in doors for now. I trip up over my own feet nowadays so I'm sure I would be straight over on the ice/snow.

Forgot to say yesterday on the have 2 close together front, there are 364 days between my younger two sisters, if they'd waited on half an hour they would have shared the same birthday but mum had to have emergency c section. She managed fine as well as having a 12 and 9 year old, and we all had measles so couldn't go to hospital to visit and mum and baby were not allowed out until we were all no longer infectious. One of the nice things is that the two girls are so close with each other and often used to complain when there were smaller about my parents dressing and treating them a bit like twins when they have completely different personalities. It was great for hand me downs as well, I don't think you have to buy as much stuff, especially if you have two of the same sex.

Anyways rabbited on a bit there sorry, mrsh I started washing baby clothes when I was 34 weeks, still got more to do so just aiming to do a wash or two a week. I make sure I include a mix of everything so that if baby was to make an early appearance we have some stuff ready to go instead of 20 baby grows and no blankets, if that makes sense?

I really want to ask this, is there anybody that will be/ want to be in labour alone ?
This is my second daughter, and my 1 took so long, OH hates hospitals so MIL was there just trying to calm him down, and me, no one could have done anything for me, baby was back to back and i was sitting in a corner wishing it was over. I had in my mind i wanted it natural, and i was very stubburn.
This time around, i told him i do not want him there, he makes me nerveous, MIL has said she would love to be there ( she is calm and very nice) but i am starting to think, stuff it i want to go in alone and only have them coming when baby is out. My oh thinks i can hardly really want that.
Well of these come from a girl who left her home in the other side of world alone, who never travelled before, not speaking the language and came to the UK aged 20.

  • I am the opposite Morocha, refusing to give birth in my mind unless my husband is there! He is calm and laid back and I know he will do what he can to support me. My only worry is he doesn't like to see me in pain and at that point he can become a bit fractious. Hoping us going to NCT will help him to understand a bit more that there is going to be pain and the best thing he can do is support me through it. I reckon though if need be I would be able to do it alone as there will be midwifes etc there so really I don't think you are truly 'alone'.

And I am totally toying with a natural birth at the moment and hubby said 'you can't do that, surely!'.

My mum always wanted to be there but I couldn't because she is such a stress head and a bit interfering if she things are not going the way she likes them so in that case I would rather give birth by myself if DH could not be there.

If it's what you want to do Morocha and you feel comfortable being alone then do it.

I wonder what the statistics of women giving birth alone are? Would be interesting to see.

I am becoming more and more unsociable queen_b can not even pretend now, i am a awful mood and can not hide it. I started to think yesterday, fine my SIL and BIL( who i like very much) have never rang or texted me about my pregnancy so they can get stuffed when baby is born. I will not have them over for a week or two and only will let them come at the same time that other friends come. I will not do the whole, it is family, they can come first. I know BIl is Oh only brother and Oh will not be happy.
Also i banned Oh from putting pics of baby on facebook until i make sure my family see pics of the baby first( they havent got fb).
I think i am about to pop, i am so hormonal is unreal, i never thought of myself like such a horrible, miserable cow.
