helen4891 - ha yes my mum did comment on how "snug" my coat was yesterday, but I am determined it will last the pregnancy out - even just left undone :rotfl:

And it probably is a lot of hormones - I do have moments of being a proper moody mare :o And I am pretty laid back normally but he only has to look at me sometimes and he gets it...poor man

Saffagal - My MA is in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Its a big commitment so I do think you have to "want" to do it. I have been considering it for a few years and had planned to continue working with 3 children and do it. But then I got broody and hence number 4 on the way....With my hyperemesis we decided it would all fit together if I left work and did my MA while on an extended maternity leave :D Obviously now having started I realise I was seriously deluded thinking I could juggle 4 kids, work and my MA :rotfl:

If I remember rightly, you are quite a bit younger than me? So you have plenty of time to find the "right" time - just enjoy baby for a bit :)

Congratulations hngrymummy, what a super quick birth!

Happy due date elisabeth hope little one doesn't keep you waiting too long.

I have bought some non bio washing powder for baby's clothes as we normally use bio. Asda are selling persil non bio 56 washes on offer at £6. I bought mine from Tesco who were selling them for £5.50 the other week, not sure if this offer is still on?

Chonorla - wowsers, take my hat off to anyone who is committed to studying when you already have a busy family life and pregnant. I studied Prince 2 project management qualification in early pregnancy, it nearly finished me off. Spending the whole exam gipping with sickness was not a good look!

Hope you are feeling less hormonal today Helen, I always feel rotten when I'm having one of those days, hubby takes the brunt of it, thankfully he is pretty understanding.

    Hello all,

    How is everyone today?

I we t for my secon GTT this morning at main hospital and my fasting blood sugar came back at 5.7 which is enough for them to diagnose me with gestational diabetes. So I will attend the diabetic clinic once a week and I've to self monitor blood sugar levels 4 times a day. I was lucky that I got to see dietician and got my monitor today as well.

They also said it is very unlikely that I will go to full term with delivery normally planned for between 38 and 39 weeks.

Has anyone else been diagnosed with GD?

Got my GTT tomorrow - the enthusiasm and joy with which I'm approaching sitting on those uncomfortable chairs for hours knows no bounds!

Yey - I finally managed my GTT test today - third time lucky!!!!!! DH got up with the kids and took them all to school and nursery and I sat still in between being sick 5 times and getting to the clinic at 9am. I then was sick before I drank the lucozade and just sat very still for the 2 hours in between blood tests. The nurse who did it was lovely and gave me a seat by the toilet and my own sick bowl :rotfl:

How long is it before you get your results, does anyone know?

Sorry to hear about your results missty25, will let you know how I get on with mine.

Queen_B - I am mad, simple as that :D To be fair I love studying and I do enjoy the peace when I sneak off to the Uni library - DH is very supportive so guess I am lucky in that way too. A couple of the other girls on my course have OH's that are not as supportive and moan about looking after the kids, housework etc when they get home from work. And one girl has already dropped out because of this :(

Good luck with the move helen4891 and glad you are feeling a little more cheerful :T These poor men deserve medals putting up with these hormones :o

But that is a perfect fasting reading.. I'd ask for a second opinion. If a fasting blood is over 7 they can dx but that is not high at all. If you google diagnostic criteria it clearly states a fasting blood should be over 7 for dx of GD and a random sample over 11.1.

My daughters was 6.3 and that was fine as within normal ranges (4-7) She was tested because my son has T1 diabetes and if he has a 5 on waking we are joyous! it is pretty much spot on, on dx his fasting bloods were 18.

relevant info here which clearly states 5.3 is the figure to aim for!

I kept fairly active this pregnancy but for the past 3 weeks i have been at home and now at 38+4 i can hardly walk, my lower back hurts so much. My moods are much better tho i want the pregnancy to end now. Keep having pains at night but nothing major. I had the bloody show on sunday so my MW seems to think baby will be born very soon and wants to see me tomorrow.

I am studying languages with the OU, two diferent ones and i have 2 TMAs to submit in two weeks.
