thanks girls.. hmmm i know this will sound so so stupid.. but i am not sure how to time them. hahahahaha.. its weird because i get cramps and they stay like a proper period pain for a bit and then go... then after a while (maybe ten 15 mins? i am not even sure), they come back and stay for a bit. now there are none but its pain i can manage. normally i used to get really bad period pains. i guess when i cant bear the pain and they are regular-ish time them then?:) they are around my belly as well.

Congrats on boldiness tomorrow, Rups (and you too for yesterday, Bamama).

I had an app on my phone. I clicked when the contraction started and stopped and it kept a note of the frequency by noting the start of the next. There's no harm in making a note of any cramps you might be experiencing. I showed my timings to my mw at the last appt I had before birth. She could see how they were developing, even though LRI didn't show interest in me going to the hospital as I wasn't regular enough.

Glad you managed to get yourself a tens machine too, Rups. I did consider purchasing the pelvic floor version, once I'd recovered from Joel's birth. True laziness from me!

    Thanks mlbarrett :)

Was just going to bed but have noticed that my legs seem swollen. Never had that before. Normal?

Agree with moneypenny. Only had a little swelling of ankles. If it happens quickly, contact your maternity assessment people at the hospital. Maybe give them a call anyway to be on the safe side.
Keep getting asked in post-birth appts if I have any swelling/problems with my legs. Maybe with so much physical pressure during birth followed by sitting around feeding most of the day, perhaps DVT is an issue? Not sure.

    Congrats moneypenny

Moneypenny! Congrats... glad you didn't need the induction. Must have been such a relief.

I asked OH about the swelling but he said my legs looked normal. Perhaps it was a bit of paranoia from family asking so many questions yesterday.

Woken up feeling strange. Not sure what it is. Belly is very odd. Might wake OH in a bit... something doesn't right ><
  • Happy due date Rups!

    Congratulations Moneypenny.

Hope you're ok Bamama. I used to get slightly swollen legs and ankles and they would feel huge to me but OH would think they looked normal!

Rups is a boldie, Rups is a boldie *pretends to do a little dance*

Here's a question I'm going to dread asking...
When do you need to start taking contractions seriously?

For the last two hours I've been getting pains. They last about 30secs every 4-5min. No plug or waters... just pain. Not sure if there are contractions either. Don't particularly feel "tightening". Started like the pain when the midwife is feeling for the head and has now moved around to my back.

Might be getting excited over nothing but opinions would be appreciated :)

Oh and I have tried lying down for a bit... and moving around. Still there so I don't think they're BH.

Money, congratulations on your new baby and you are very very brave!!... the pain did not go away for years in my mind .

Bamama, i started off with period like pains, very managable, when you think you can not cope then ring the hospital... but i would wait a bit and more if you are not far from hospital.... it is better to dilate at home. I went to the hospital too soon, as i live 1 hs away and only was 2 cm and was sent to walk in town...

  • Morning everyone :D it's almost Christmas!

Happy due date Rups and Lozzy woop woop!

Bamama - can offer no advice at all I'm afraid but I'm seriously hoping that you are dilating and becoming one step closer to meeting your little one. It must be such a hard call to make as to when to start aches and pains seriously. I agree with Morocha, wouldn't like to be going to hospital too early but then to don't want to be giving birth on the way there.

Thankfully I have started to feel better, arm not as sore and headache gone. Have started to feel very uncomfortable at the top of my bump and finding food hard to digest, gah! Not what a food lover wants to hear at Christmas!

Congrats money penny! Haven't added you to the birth list as you were not on to start with so not sure if you wanted to be added but if you want adding just shout :)
