Could have gone any time! Can't be a hermit for 9 months :P glad you got your tens machine. Hope I cope as well as I think I can XD my only help is the pool, g+a and pethadine as a last resort. If I have the pethadine I can't go in the pool for at least 4 hours...

Might surprise yourself and not need the epidural :) I'll just have to suck it up cause it's not an option XD

You taken a belly pic yet? You'll regret it if you don't get one before you pop :P

Bamama I'd kinda love to swap places as I'm ready to meet Bean now but then again the cot hasn't arrived yet & I've not washed any clothes yet so still have quite a bit to do! :) I'll be interested to hear your birth story too as I'm hoping for a water birth with g&a :) I used g&a in August after having to call the paramedics for a locked knee. It's amazing stuff but I wasn't surprised when one of the midwives said she'd probably take it off me whilst I'm trying to actually push as I couldn't do much but laugh & swear which the paramedics found hilarious!

I'm doing good. Just full of it with this stupid cold although last night I actually slept through after DH put olbas oil in a cup with boiling water to make the air in the bedroom a bit mentholly then caked my feet in vaporub & put me some socks on :) Oh, and my pelvis clicked today when I was putting my jeans on! That surprised me a bit :) But I'm having a pamper weekend as I had my hair done today then it's nails & feet tomorrow so I'm feeling quite good about myself despite bring full of cold & missing things like my wardrobe & my waist!!!

ooh nice mrsb. enjoy the pampering hon. :) i have to wait now or if bubs is still around then might go and get eyebrows done as they are already growing back. so hairy.. if not, then oh well wil lhave to do it after..managed to get my pedicure and all i am majorly concerned about is my hairy body. what a pain.

oh bamama i am not one to suffer from pain and all that so if i have the option to make the choice earlier, i def am asking for an epidural. why is it not an option for you?

I'll be sure to write it up for you mrs_B. I've never had g+a so I don't know what it'll do to me >< no doctors there to give an epidural Rups. Midwives only :)

Argh, everyone has these stupid colds. I didn't get it too bad thankfully.

I hope they can give you the epidural Rups. Keep in mind that it may not be possible though. Docs get busy or you may progress so fast there won't be enough time for it to work.

I had water + g&a for most of it. Ended up with epidural as he was forceps in the end as he was back to back. Water + g&a would have been enough otherwise.

Lost a bit more plug this morning :) see if baby decides to pop out during my auntie's party XD x

  • I agree that g&a is probably very effective, but only if you can use it at the right time. Labour was so quick for me, I wasn't given the option of other painkillers and by that time I was offered g&a, I didn't really feel the effect.

I would say that it's great if you can get the tens machine on early, once you start contracting. It'll give your body time to start building up the endorphins to help with the pain.

I also wouldn't worry about being hairy. I did trim and meant to have a bit more of a tidy up down there but didn't get round to it. The midwives weren't bothered; all they care about is that you're ok and getting baby out safely. I felt bad about the lady stitching me up and having to see it all, but then it's all natural too. They told me that I'd leave the maternity ward with my dignity in a box. It's pretty true; I ended up not being bothered who was walking into my delivery room when my legs were spread in the stirrups for the stitch up.
