Chuggers in Morrisons

I am bloody furious!
Yesterday evening (around 7pm), my OH was putting out the bins for our next-door-neighbour (then he would do ours) and 3 door-to-door chuggers representing Greenpeace came down the road.
One came down our path but before he could knock, my OH said 'we're not interested'.
The chugger then said 'aren't you interested in the environment' and my OH repeated that he wasn't interested.
At that point, one of the other 2 said 'C'mon, he's not interested 'cos we's black'.
!!!!!!?
Did I mention they were all black?
No, I didn't - because it didn't matter what colour skin they had or what religion they were or what they were intending having for dinner - because we're not bloody interested.
Neither my OH or I are racist and this suggestion that my OH was racist riled me up so much that I went outside to confront them about it.
I hate it when people play the 'racist card'.
Anyway, this guy denied he'd said that.
If my OH said he did say it - then he did say it.
We had quite a ding-dong in the street and I asked to see his ID/authorisation card and he refused.
By this time, the other 2 guys had come back and one said he was the manager/team leader.
I asked to see his ID/authorisation card and he refused too.
I said it didn't matter because I'd seen the guy's name so could name him in the complaint I intended to make.
The first guy then started banging on about how hard it was to get a job and didn't I appreciate it that he was trying not to live off the state and I said I wasn't interested in his circumstances, just the racist jibe he'd made.
The manager/team leader eventually gave me a card with the first guy's name and a telephone number on.
We walked off in opposite directions and the first guy shouted back 'you are racist, man'.
Anyway, I'm going to ring the number to complain and also email Greenpeace to make a complaint.
I will never, ever donate to Greenpeace again and any chugger that crosses my path from now on, regardless of the charity, will get a short, sharp 'No' instead of the usually polite 'No, sorry' that I usually give.
Outrageous. This is exactly what I have been driving at. You are out going about your business and suddenly you are a racist because you won't contribute to the already bloated coffers of a greedy charity. Nor subsidise the wages of some fool who can't be arsed to get a real job.
Complain like you have never complained before. Shame on them all.0
