Even if you have a 'rule' here, it won't stop any TB author who isn't on this forum....

and what would be the incentive for those at 4 or 5 star to help the 3 star make 'progress' ... ?

It's just a bit pathetic. 3* orders come up so infrequently compared to 4* orders, you've got to be a bit deranged to mop up the 3* ones when they come up given A) That there are usually enough 4*s to keep you busy and B) The price drop is fairly significant.

If you're thinking of it in a deeply un-altruistic way as in "quick! let's make sure that 2/3* order isn't taken by someone trying to make their way up to 4* level, and hence could threaten my future potential income!!!" well....then I suggest finding a new hobby or something.

To be perfectly honest, I don't pay a blind bit of notice to what the star rating of an order is. I look through the categories that interest me, scan the topics requested for what interests me, and pick the ones to write. That's usually enough of a rush (because if I don't pick them off the vine, someone else will) that I pay scant attention to anything else. I can't do the 5 stars, so I'll do as much of everything else as I can, because I want to make money from it. If the 3 star authors aren't quick enough off the mark to get there before me or any other 4 or 5 star author.... you snooze, you lose.

However, as I said - the authors aren't just the folk on this forum, there's a wider world out there, and trying to persuade me, or others here, to give work to the 3 stars will have no effect on the wider world. If we sit back, they'll take all the work.

Do you really want to put money in other people's pockets rather than your own?

Have to disagree on "usually enough 4*s to keep you busy", I'm afraid.... and it may be a 'hobby' for you, but ....

Obviously, the 3*star items are there for anyone to pick up. There are so few of them that I suspect equally few 3* authors sit on TB all day, every day, constantly refreshing, waiting for one to turn up, so no doubt most of them are picked up by 4* authors. As for 2*, I've not seen one, ever!

We all use TB for different reasons: I'm also using TB as a hobby. I only pick up articles I'm interested in - on many subjects that come up, I'd struggle to find 50 words to write, let alone 500. I have enormous respect for those authors who can write about anything, but I'm definitely not one of them. I do however, spend ages on my articles, a ridiculous amount of time on occasions when I must be earning about 1p an hour :rotfl:

Some weeks I pick up several articles and some weeks none. But the money is still building up quite nicely.
  • I just saw this thread yesterday and decided to try it out. I didn't expect to hear from them that quickly, especially since I did my test article at 10 last night lol. Had an email from them this morning and I got 4* :-)

DO you like writing about online casinos and their offshoots? If so, at the moment, you'll fit right in.
  • I only read about TB at the weekend and wrote my sample on Saturday. They gave me a 4* rating which I'm really chuffed about after reading this thread. Wrote my first article yesterday and will wait to see what happens with it before attempting any more.

Some of the client instructions on there are very vague I must say. In that instance would you grab it and ask the client for more information or grab it, write something and see what they say?
  • Blackwk, personally I usually just steer clear of ones that are overly vague. I know I should probably take a stab at them anyway, from a money making perspective, but I find the ones that don't write efficient instructions are flakey, hard to get a hold of for clarification and a lot of the time don't actually know what they want.

As I say, I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but I just think they're more hassle than they're worth (most of the time anyway).
  • The 3 stars come round if you keep your eyes peeled (24 hours a day lol!)
  • The client approved the article with no revisions! HURRAH!

Wow. Total of seven 4* articles, six of which need to be written in French.

    Champing at the bit here...
