I guess my main concern is that I can manage to do at least 16 hours per week,

One option might be to do as much textbroker work as possible. And make up the time in a slow week by writing articles to send to magazines. You send them off and wait to hear back in a few months if they've been accepted (they'll only pay you if they accept the article).
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten

I noticed today and yesterday two posters on here said that Team UK would be posting lots of articles this week (although those posts have weirdly been deleted) - I was just wondering, did lots of other people receive a notification from that group? I'm a member of Team UK, but I haven't wrote an article for them yet (I saw all the others ones posted last week) and didn't receive that notification. Anyone else received anymore details about it?

We've been asked not to post about the team orders on forums, so think that will be why the posts have been removed.
  • So, signed up for Textbroker, submitted my little assessment... and got graded 3 star :(

Still hopeful, I had a look on the site today... and no jobs currently available for 3 star writers :( (and only one for 4 star writers - plenty for those blessed with 5 stars though!)

I have joined a couple of teams, but no orders there either...

Will keep checking over the next couple of days though.

Don't give up! They often get a huge batch of 3* ones, if you work on those, when they do the grading you can make it to the 4* :) But as you say...there's not many of either around right now :o

I found that was the case when I started up 3 weeks ago. Had to refresh the order page virtually continuously and only got my first 5 in by taking on very weird jobs.

I've recently got 4* status, and did an order for 1 particular client that I enjoyed. I speculatively messaged them to say thanks and got 6 big direct orders in return! I had audaciously just bumped my price up to 2.5 /word beforehand too. Didn't expect them to make it this easy!

I tried that - sent a thank you message to the client who had heaped praise on my articles.

Did I get any direct orders because of it? Nope! :rotfl:

But well done you .... I'm not jealous or anything:mad:

I am currently writing an article, which when I accepted it, thought I understood the keyword requirements, but on looking at it for the hundreth time, have now confused myself about what the client actually wants. I have sent him/her a message but am concerned about him not replying and me missing the deadline. I could e mail Vicky too, but she does not always reply straight away. Is there a kind person on here I could PM and get a second opinion please?
  • why dont you write it out here?

im not involved in text broker but am an IM'er and use alot of article writers so i may be able to help
