It's a bug in their system: after 5 articles your account is blocked pending review, which means you can't take any OpenOrders. But the system doesn't block DirectOrders. If you get one of these come through and it is accepted, you are now on 6 articles, and the account is unlocked automatically and you can get to the OpenOrders again, and carry on writing :cool:

Hi there I haven't read the whole thread, but can you be an expat and work on this site. I am in NZ but have a uk paypal account still.... I was also wondering about tax, as I can't register for self employed in UK as I am not there....

Good question - I'm not sure that you need to be UK resident to register, but I wouldn't have thought so. I'd say give it a go, the worst that can happen is the registration will fail

As for the tax, well you'll have to do whatever applies in NZ - I assume you have some sort of tax status there and it's the NZ rules you'll need to follow.

Very happy to have just received all of my ratings from textbroker within a 7 day period as promised Unblocked and can now write again - 4 stars for all 5 articles

There are some 3 star articles waiting to be snapped up, go and get em guys. I'm holding out for some 4 star ones I think, there has been the odd one coming up but don't fancy the long one that's on there currently.

I think I just snatched this long one you're referring to. 1,700 words for just over 20 Euros Hopefully I'll have time to do it!

edit: just received my first direct order! completed this quite quickly and received another

I think I may have hit the jackpot. I was invited to a group by the client who issued my direct orders, and nobody seems to be claiming any of the jobs. There are 6, each being worth 15 euros for 1000 words. I think it's going to be a late nighter.

I think I must be doing something wrong. I've written 20 articles and now on my next one. My feedback is always good or excellent, I've never had anything rejected and only one revision (apart from that unfortunate one with the rude client). But I'm not getting any direct orders?

My extended profile is only 65% complete so maybe that's why? I've put as much info as I'd like to without giving too much personal info away, but maybe that's not enough. Ideas?
