  • If you look below new New Author profiles in the information box, is your rating not there? Does it not say 'Write content'?

You should have heard something by now, so maybe pop and email off to them.

My email went straight to junk by the way.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Have I done something wrong? I wrote my sample a couple of days ago and I've heard nothing. On the site I can edit my profile but I've got no rating?! Bit confused. I wasn't expecting 4 stars, maybe 3? But I'm still waiting to hear something, which seems odd as most people on here seem to have been rated in 24 hours :(

It took about 5 days for them to rate my first sample.
  • Thanks for the replies :) I think I need to have some patience  I'll give it a bit longer and then email if I don't hear anything.
  • Hi

Not sure if I'm breaking any rules here - this place can be a minefield - but I'm looking for some writers for my website. I wont go into any details in case I am breaking rules but surely it's moneysaving to cut out the middle man? I notice from the rates they charge and the rates they pay that TB obviously take a pretty big cut. If someone can advise me a better place to discuss this or confirm I'm ok to give more details that would be great.

    Cheers.
And if, you know, your history...

I have been working on textbroker for some time now and I make a nice living from this. I do it as a full time job and operate as a sole trader. Initially, it can be daunting and starting from scratch seems a pitiful way of earning some cash, but I can say that with time, the money does roll in. I usually earn around £50.00 a day over five days and I am never short of work.

With no travelling costs, I can work from home and I treat it is as a full time job. I have a lunch break just like as if I was in an office and I write and write.

I have a business bank account which TB pay into every week and with very little costs, it has proven to be a worthwhile income. As a 4 star writer, I am earning a good salary.
  • That's how I feel sommer, I'm getting some great jobs now. How long has it taken you to work your way up to £50 a day? I'm nowhere near that, but I generally only work during school hours and when the kids are in bed
  • I think I'll definitely have a crack at this later on. Thanks!

    Hi Sarah

In all it has taken me six months. I started as a way of bringing in extra income, I was claiming carer's allowance for my partner who is disabled was not working anyway. WHile I could earn £100 per week on carer's allowance, this affected my partner's ESA so, I decided to treat it as a full time job. We have had the ESA adjusted accordingly, as I registered with HMRC as self employed and with the benefits advisor who we called, we are straight with his DLA and his ESA.

With me now treating this as a full time job with good direct orders, I had written 70 odd articles before I was contacted for direct orders, am also part of a team and can do the smaller articles to keep the bits rolling in while my larger articles are in the clearing process.

It has released us from the benefit trap, the hours are flexible, but I do work from 9-5pm, although sometimes, if I see a little number up there, I will just bang it out.

Textbroker do take 30% but for me, the backing of a large organisation is worth it, with money rolling in on a weekly basis, it means that we have more money and we even managed a holiday this year. Textbroker get's a thumbs up from me. I am now doing large buying guides and while time consuming, at 40euros a guide, I am doing one a day.

I pay my NI on a monthly basis, I set aside what my tax will be, I have paid an accountant to simply asses my tax return and file and the simple in and out aspect of the business is something I manage myself.
