  • Not that I can get them as they are 4* :(, but just to let people know there are 44 property and 33 travel orders on TB at the moment.

One quick question. How long do I have to accept a Direct Order? I sent my latest client an update on the initial piece I was writing, explaining that the word count meant limiting detail. I suggested a follow-on piece to handle the rest of their requirement, which they have come back and accepted.

I've just sent the client the initial article for review before I write the next one, so haven't yet accepted the direct order. Will TB time it out on me if I don't accept it within a certain time, as I notice it has a 1 day deadline after I accept, and I need to make sure the client gets feedback to me before I write it.

    Good luck with the 4's
  • To answer the other part of the question, yes one day is twenty-four hours from the time you click 'I want to write this order'.

Don't worry, just do your best and take your time over the research and you'll be fine.

I must say I'm very happy with the payment process. Requested my first ten pounds yesterday, processed to PayPal this morning, and was in my bank within seconds of PayPal releasing it. I thought PP took days to pay you but they must've changed their systems to BACS or i'm just mistaked and it's always been instant! My first £10 in my savings account since graduating haha :$
  • Hopefully I might have some time to write my first article today. How do other authors approach it? Use the 9-10 minutes you have when you first click on it to quickly research the web and find out of there's enough out there to write about or just accept it and hope for the best?

Do authors here also write their opinions in their articles or just stick to the facts that their research has unearthed?

    Thanks.

Personally I only choose things that I either know something about, that are easy to research and I know there'll be a lot of information on, or that are common sense sort of things.

You can usually gauge on whether you can include opinions and how formal or colloquial you can type based on the client instructions it seems like. For example yesterday I was writing for a blog post and he specifically also said I could include humour and my own views.

Paypal did used to take two or three days to process a payment but must have switched - I made a withdrawal last week and they said it would take a maximum of two hours. It may only be a tenner, but it adds up nicely, doesn't it!
  • Quick question.... What are pay pals charges? Is it more financially beneficial to get it transferred into my bank? Thanks
  • Thanks guys - well i took the plunge and did it. I hope it was ok - i felt like it was pretty good but you never know. I picked up a travel one i knew about - including some places the client mentioned local to me that i've been to so that helped! I found i had to delete words though becuase they wanted a lot for the word limit so now i've submitted it i'm worried it might not be quite what they were hoping. It took quite a while to do the research , all for about £4! Fun though but I just hope it is still up to 4* standard as I can see there are so many 4 star available. All the property ones someone else mentioned are for an Australian market so i left those well alone.
I don't know enough about writing for the web and SEO's etc to work out how you can write an artcile about something and pu the key word 'credit card' or something like that, in an article nothing to do with money or anything!!

PayPal don't charge you. At least I don't seem to get charged, not for such little amounts.
  • I registered and got rated 4*. I did my first assignment this morning which was accepted by the client. Looking forward to doing more.
