Textbroker - Writing for money (not vouchers)

  • :rotfl: I can see how that research wouldn't look too good on a work computer...

As for articles being accepted, I've seen everything from an hour to three days. Once it's accepted the money is paid to your TB account, then you can claim it once the account exceeds 10 Euros, to be paid the next Friday. It needs to be claimed by the Thursday otherwise it rolls over to next week. It doesn't depend on TB rating the article, only the customer accepting it (otherwise I'd be a lot less sanguine about TB STILL not having rated any of mine...)

Great thanks. Just requested payout :)
  • Oooh intriguing, what's in the 'other' category today? I'm writing an article on choosing a bin for your kitchen so can't check!

Catriona, as everyone says, it's okay to cancel jobs it doesn't affect your ratings or anything. Natu - I'd be wary of cancelling to to re-apply too often. Though that does work, and as you say may upset customers, it's also frowned upon by TB. Just saying watch your back if it becomes to look like a pattern on your account.

I try to make a habit out of it, I just do it when I don't have time to do an article before work and I've already wrote half of it. Didn't know textbroker kept track of it :/ I'll defo stop it, thanks

    The keywords are *ahem* interesting.

I've just submitted my 5th piece therefore my account is 'dormant' while they rate it - any ideas how long this usually takes?
I took one of the 'other' pieces this morning and thoroughly enjoyed doing it ;)

It took about 10 days for mine, I kept emailing and they'd say they were waiting for a client to accept an article - even though it had been accepted. I sent an angry message and about 20 minutes later my account was released :D Just send them reminders.

    SchminkyCat,
You remember you wrote the bake-a-cake article with the photos?
I did one too and was just looking at the client stats (to look at rejection rates) and found out that the cake client 'doesn't accept articles from me'. No reason given as to why.
She printed the article without any edits, so must have been happy with it.
Is it the same for you with the same client? I wondered if she was trying to keep some sort of authenticity by having a different person write it each time.

I didn't know you get locked down after 5 articles while they assess you :( Only 2 more and I'll have to wait then I guess. How annoying.
  • I submitted my test piece last night and got an email this morning saying I've been accepted and rated 4 stars! Yay.
But now i'm really nervous - I have looked at a few of the orders but haven't taken one - i'm worried about not doing it well enough! Any tips on what to start off with - or how you do your articles - draft it first somewhere or just write it straight away. Also when it says one day is that 24 hours to write it?
Sorry for loads of questions I've read a lot of the thread but not all of it so sorry if this has already been covered.
  • I say just do it, give it your best shot, do the research, read it out loud to yourself, get someone else to read it.... Recheck and only send it when your happy. May be pick a subject you're vaguely familiar with as a start point, but honestly the stuff I've written about, cracks up my OH. It gets easier, like everything :)
