  • Thanks so much to the original poster - its early days (as in more like hours since i signed up) but so far I am loving it! I've written two travel articles and am about to start a 3rd , and my first travel article got rated excellent on everything from the client. Fingers crossed TB think the same but I guess that's not guarenteed. The comma thing I've been reading about is particularly worrying! Hoping this actually works out for me, as its interesting and seems to be going well so far - much better than all the other things I've tried (including Lionbridge which bored me to tears!!)

  • I'm sorry to keep droning on about this...lol... But why use PayPal instead of your bank account? Thanks :)

I read on this forum quite early on that if you are in the UK you can't use your bank account, only a Paypal account - something to do with Textbroker being a German company?
Now I've not seen this anywhere on the Textbroker site to be honest, so have no idea if it is the case.
However, they pay in euros, which Paypal converts to pounds at the standard rate (I believe), and while it says there is a fee, I haven't been charged anything. Your bank may charge to convert, so it is worthwhile checking.

Paypal don't seem to be charging me, but their euro conversion rate is low compared to what I looked up on xe.com so I think they're taking some commission that way. It still works out cheaper for me because my bank charges a fee to take payments in euros, but it might depend what bank you're with.

It's really annoying me at the moment because I've got 43 articles waiting for ratings and until textbroker get on with it I can't get at any of the 70-odd 4* articles that are on the site at the moment .
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten

43?! Have you tried emailing them and giving them a little nudge?

How can you still see the articles available? I'm waiting for my rating and I can't see any? :(

    43 is a lot :|

I've got my first client rating, excellent in all fields and commented "wonderful article" :)!
  • Some of the subjects are rather random and the instructions seem sparse. I'm guessing that if they aren't specific then content doesn't matter so much as long as it's well-written? Have written 4 so far, am I right in thinking that once I've done another one they'll have to be checked before I can do more?

Yeah I emailed them a week ago, got a reply saying " I will ensure that a member of our editorial team gets to your work as soon as possible." and so on, but still no ratings.

@epskie - I think what happened was I picked up a 6th (and 7th) article before my 5th article was accepted, so it didn't have time to lock me out after 5.

I'm dreading this, I'm only one article away from being locked down. I hate the thought of not being able to earn for so long, this website is really amazing. :(

On the plus sde, 4th article rated excellent by the client :)

Just dropped an article after seeing this revision rate: 166.67 % :O
