Do clients always give you a rating, or is that optional for them? All 5 of mine have now been accepted and paid for, but only one has actually been rated by the client? I'm guessing it's the Textbroker assessment that is important?
  • Katini - I didn't mean 5 today! Just since I did the first 5. I haven't done any for about a week until the 1 yesterday.

2cats - I think about 40% of my articles have been reviewed by the client. Am not sure how much of a factor their rating is, and it certainly seems to be the Text broker rating that is important.

From what I've read from established authors the biggest contributing factor is the TB rating. You need to be consistently rated by them to stand a chance of advancing up the ladder. It is taking them eons to rate mine though, going on 8 working days!

Just been sent 16 Direct Orders  It's a lot of work but exciting. I also emailed TB to see if I could be upgraded to 5 stars and it sounds like a LOT of hoops to jump through. If you're finding TB are taking ages to review your articles (some of mine have taken a month :rotfl:) then drop them an email and they tend to be pretty good.

Has anyone been upgraded from a 3* to a 4* on Textbroker? I'm just wondering if you have to have all 5 of your most recent articles rated as 4* to be upgraded, or if they round up the overall score?

For example, my last 5 articles were rated 3, 3, 3, 4, 4 - so my average is 3.4, which they "round down" to 3*. But say my next 5 are 3, 3, 4, 4, 4 - the average would be 3.6. Would that still be rounded down to 3* or do they round up?

I'm guessing down still. If a client is expecting a 4* article, they are going to want writers who are at least 4* or more aren't they, not "approaching 4* so we rounded her up"...

Sorry - entire conversation by myself there. That's what happens after 7.30pm in this house...

    They round up 3.6 to 4, I was a 3.6 after my 5 article review and I was made a 4*

Bloody hell that's a lot of work! Up your price quick! :p

I'm not entirely sure emailing does anything, I've tried it twice and got a copy/paste response each time. Made me feel as if I was at least trying to help the process but who knows if it impacted the actual time frame.

No probs SchminkyCat - hope you get your 4* soon

I've been quite lucky in that a couple of people who I did articles for had further work that needed to be done and sent me quite a few direct orders - I think it helps that my price is low :rotfl:

I've not had any of my articles reviewed by TB since my initial 5 (and I've completed more than 50, some of which are a month old), so have no idea what's going on with their processes at the moment. Apparently it should take 7 - 10 days or so, but I've yet to see if I'm the exception or the rule in having such long waits.
