Anyone doing the city articles from last night? I'm not sure how to write about locations of the specified places, wiithout naming brand names. I mean are we supposed to write about generic attractions as in "there are lots of restaurants" or are we able to put "restaurant x is on y street". IYSWIM

I have emailed the client as he says he is open to questions, but no reply and anyway the site seems to be down:eek:

Hi movingon, I suppose it depends on the client. What is the brief? Can you roughly describe just in case we are not allowed to say? Are we allowed to say? I had one on vintage Jewellery, however the client did ask for named shops and areas.

    Hi
I was vague deliberately because not sure what the rules are. The client has now replied-but I was worrying because of the deadline. Anyone else sometimes struggle with the instructions?

Oh yes! You can rate the instructions, although as a relative newbie I haven't liked to.

Been reading this thread and itching to have a go. Long been an aspiring writer, but life got in the way. Recently I have been working on a couple of novels and some short stories just to get in the swing on writing again then saw this thread.
Thought what the hey its sounds a good way to get some writing practice in and I might pick up some money on the way. Joined yesterday and banged my sample in and it came back today as 4* so hopefully should be able to find a few articles.

    TY op :)

Hi ALIBOBSY, you sound like me? Are you on any writing forums?
I am really enjoying Textbroker. Just wish they didn't review your work after five articles as I have been missing the work over the weekend. I'm also a four star. Wait until you get the email saying the client has approved your article. Such a buzz.

Just spotted your from Lancs, me too. Your location made me laugh though, it's tipping it down here today.

TB seems to be down at the moment... anyone else having problems? It's really infuriating as I have an article to be getting on with but can't, grr

I'm in a similar sort of boat, not entirely sure how much the experience has helped or hindered me. It's definitely not how I would want to write naturally but I guess it stretches your stylistic abilities. If you can write fake stories about why you went on holiday you can write about most things, right?
    1. Save money.
    2. Worry you haven't saved enough.

    4. Travel.
    £3,000/8,000ish.

Yep pouring down here too lol, mind you seems we have had more sun than those down south this summer (still not that much rofl).

Been reading a few forums and sites, but not yet joined any. Trouble is with the comping forums, gardening forums and MSE plus others I already spend too much time online ;).

Not to mention "real world" with 4 kids, one hubby,2 cats and chickens, house and garden to sort.

Would love to know any recomendations for helpful forums though?

Obviously I prefer the non-fiction stuff, but just the chance to get paid for my writing and to actually get into a discipline of writing on a regular basis is what I am looking forward to.
