I had tried to sign up, as I write on Ciao and Dooyoo, as well as a blog, but it seems they're not taking on new submissions, and they will be in touch when my work is read. Does anyone know how long this would take? Or is it a waste of time at the minute?

I got the same thing after I submitted the required review piece at the beginning of January and I'm still waiting, more than three months later. At least, I would be if I was at all interested in doing any kind of work for a company that values it's potential users so little. If they ever do get back to me after all this time, their communication will meet the business end of my delete button and won't even get read. If they can't be bothered then neither can I.

There's little value in signing up these potential users when there doesn't seem to be enough work to keep the current authors busy....

... and even when work is there, it's something like today's -

120 words for €1.56, where the instructions add up to 191 words with three URLs to be referred to .....

I find myself wondering, when the client can type 191 words up of what they want, why they couldn't just write the 120 themselves......
  • I really don't know how it's nosedived so drastically. All I seem to see are short, SEO-heavy articles. Could it be Textbroker's recent price increase?

Where are all the good clients?!

Anyone doing the Stylefruits articles on textbroker? I did my first one and my SEO skills aren't top notch yet, so I wasn't expecting a fantastic rating. However, they've rated me 'acceptable' at everything, which is less than half the bar full. It's annoyed me because they've even done it on spelling and grammar yet my SPAG skills are close to perfect and I always get clients giving me excellent for them. They rated me 'acceptable' for dependability and responsiveness too, yet I fulfilled the article within an hour of accepting it.

Do they always rate this low? Can other clients see client ratings? It's really irked me, like I say, I wouldn't mind if they rated me low on content as I'm not used to writing SEO fashion pieces, wanted to see if what I produced would be up to scratch. It's put me off doing other stylefruits articles which is a pain because there's not always much else on offer.

TB haven't rated it yet, but I'm always rated a 4 anyway.
  • I picked up one of those Stylefruits articles you mentioned, and my ratings were good except for spelling & grammar, which was average. Like you, I felt my spelling & grammar didn't warrant such a rating; I guess they must have some peculiar standards.

As for the other criteria, dependability & responsiveness doesn't just refer to how quick you are with a submission. The dependability part, I guess, takes into account how well the overall article has fulfilled their requirements; in other words, how much the client can depend on you to meet their expectations.

Update on the State of Textbroker:

Aside from a massive batch of three-star articles a while back, it has been slim pickings in the open order pool. Since Wednesday of last week, the articles have slowed down considerably for four-star and below. Hopefully things will improve as Christmas approaches.
