Hi all. I submitted my writing sample about a month ago and haven't heard anything from Text Broker since then. My account just shows a message thanking me for the sample and saying that they usually respond within a week.

It seems they've been flooded with author sign-ups since they were publicised by MSE, but if that's the case they should say so on their website. As Mark Twain said, it's difficult to gain a good reputation but it's very easy to lose one. Or was it Cicero?

I submitted mine approx three weeks ago and have not heard anything since either. Hope to hear from them soon

I submitted mine about the same time but I didn't hear anything. I'm just assuming that they don't want any more writers at the moment and I'm turning my attention to short story writing instead.

If you have been waiting for 2 weeks or more, it is definitely worth emailing them and asking how long they expect it to take to evaluate your piece. Three of my friends have done this and were sorted out and approved within hours of enquiring.

I have now been accepted by TB and have three stars. I'm just finding my way around the site and working out what to do.

Thanks for the replies, folks, I have only just noticed them.

My rating arrived earlier in the week. 3 stars, but I think my sample was probably a bit flowery. There are no 3 star jobs on the system as I type, is it possible to improve a rating by submitting more samples or is completing actual tasks the only way to do so?

Finally got an email. After completely rejecting my original text sample for some reason, I've been rated at 4*.

Have had a look at some of the stuff available and may get stuck into some tomorrow.

  • Text Broker are rating! Have just had 62 articles rated. Fortunately all were deemed four star, but that was a nerve-racking hour - phew.

In my brief experience with TextBroker, once you are assigned a 3* "status" then you're pretty much screwed.

You can only get a higher rating by getting articles ranked by the client but 3* jobs come in so rarely that I lost patience after a month.

Bear in mind you will be in competition with 4* writers also.

Does taxbroker handle all of the in between work between writer and client? Say, you did a superb article and the client claims not to like it. Do you just give up the work without being paid, or does the site handle the issue for you?
