I'm pretty sure they do prioritise those waiting for an initial five article review - when I signed up about a year or so ago, they rated my first five within a week. Some people in the thread have said they had to give TB a little poke (via email) to get their first five seen to, but that was way before TB was mentioned by MSE. They probably do have a backlog, but it might be worth emailing them.
Thanks. I had emailed them and they have now reviewed them (within a couple of days of the email) so all systems go now!0 -
There are currently over 1000 level 2 product descriptions available. Does anyone know how TB are likely to rate this kind of very short piece? Also, how is it possible to write that many descriptions without repeating yourself or someone else?0

Setting aside rating, if you do more than one and repeat more than 4 or 5 consecutive words, you'll be asked to revise it by TB, on the grounds that you've used the text in a previous article.
I'll leave it to you to judge how creative you can be, or how creatively different from others ....0 -
Seems like a great way to earn some extra cash if you're into writing. Signing up now and I'll see how everything goes. Thanks for the link!0

Hi
I did some short ones a little while ago which were about 50 - 70 words and they don't get rated, just a note with the following:
neutral - no rating
[Due to the article's length, it has been rated as neutral]

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this strange behaviour. I've recently written three articles for the same client. The first one I wrote had a revision request, which I did, and it was accepted. The next two were accepted without revisions, but in the feedback the client has made comments along the lines of "it reads much better after the changes" and "better after the first attempt".
Also, I noticed that the client has a revision rate of 100%! Does anyone know what's going on here? My articles were accepted and I got the money, so it's not a big deal or anything. It just seems a little odd.0 -
I'm still waiting to hear whether I've been accepted by TB. It's been several weeks now.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0

I knew it had to happen at some point! Had my first revision request after 30-odd articles written, I did have doubts about accepting it in the first place as the instructions were vague to say the least, and English obviously wasn't their first language.
It's was about a specific make of electrical products, but the instructions were basically just a list of 'suggested' keywords, some relating to the product, and some completely random! I wrote what I thought could fit many of the suggested (and random!) keywords, and have had it back for revision today stating I'd only used the brand name 3 times and could I write about two specific models. Well, if they'd said that in the first place, and given me the model numbers . . . . . Ah well, shouldn't take too long!0 -
Hi all. I submitted my writing sample about a month ago and haven't heard anything from Text Broker since then. My account just shows a message thanking me for the sample and saying that they usually respond within a week.
It seems they've been flooded with author sign-ups since they were publicised by MSE, but if that's the case they should say so on their website. As Mark Twain said, it's difficult to gain a good reputation but it's very easy to lose one. Or was it Cicero?0
