Hello all, I registered with textbroker and submitted my writing sample a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything back yet. I did get an acknowledgement email and I know they say their average turnaround is a week to rate samples - has anyone else had to waitmuch longer than that? I'm wondering how long to leave it before worrying that something's gone wrong!

I think they've been inundated with applications since last week when the site was mentioned by MSE! Mine took about a week too, though, and that was a year ago..I think some people earlier in the thread who had waited a while sent an email and got a quick response and rating, so you could try that. TB isn't always the quickest about ratings but they're good at responding to friendly inquiries :)

Correct. Also see #941 and 942 on the previous page of this thread...

Anyone not had their TB payment today, or should it appear later on? Normally I am not waiting on the money so don't bother checking too closely as long as its in by the next week, but could do with getting it today this week.

    Hi Ali

I usually get an email around 8.30am and then a payment a couple of hours later. I think today mine went in around 10.15 - hope that helps x

I submitted my sample text around a week ago and got an email reply today telling me:

"Due to the grammar and phrasing of this article, we are unable to accept it as a registration text.

Unfortunately, following the rejection of a registration article, we are currently not able to accept any further applications"

Now, I'm not saying I am a literary genius but I would say that my grammar, punctuation, spelling etc are above average so I literally have no clue why they've rejected it.

Is there any point in asking the support team to detail the reasons why it was rejected?

My article was a piece I wrote about sightseeing in my home city of Edinburgh, a suggested topic for the sample text.

    Me too!

I wrote about London and it took over a fortnight to get this reply. I did sent it off the back of the MSE email so can understand why they have been swamped. Still a bit miffed, though. I might try and sign up with another email address.
  • Has anyone else done any of the Buying Guides Team Orders? I'm very patiently waiting for an order to be accepted from last week (might be longer, actually) but I have no idea when they are going to do it. I know they said it takes longer than usual, but I'm a bit worried now.

I have just signed up, completed both assessments and have added my paypal information. I have been asked for 'European sales tax-identification number (UID)', I'm not sure if I'm being silly but I don't know what to put in the box?
    Many thanks in advance

I'm waiting for almost 10 of them.

Wow. That will be a good day for your account when they get approved! I'll sit on my thumbs for a little while longer, then.
