Whoo hoo, I've been invited onto a team! Only a year after applying ....!:rotfl:

As I didn't have much of a clue about what I was writing about, whether I stay on the team or get booted off remains to be seen!

    Hi all,

Just posted off my sample text, has anyone got a rough idea of how long it takes them to review and rate?

    Regards,

Can you sign up for the site if you aren't from the UK. I am studying abroad so need a job in GBP instead of my home currency. I know a lot of sites will block out non-residents though because they are spammed by many who can't write English as their first language, or fluently...

Depending on where you are TB have a number of sites, and often ask for articles in other languages if you have those skills. Currently the UK site pays out in euro's, but I like many on here get it paid via paypal who will convert it to your local currency if you want.

Just a heads up if anyone hasn't checked the site, there are over 80 4* jobs up at the moment. It's lovely being able to choose at leisure rather than having to frantically click to get one! :D

Is anyone else on Team UK - I've taken 5 articles in the last two days for this team, and was looking forward to doing loads more because the pay rate is better. However despite getting marked excellent for 3 of them and good for 2 I've been blacklisted by the client!
I've emailed Vikki at textbroker to see if she can do anytihng as i can't help but feel it was accidental? I don't understand why else i'd be blaclisted if they were rating it good. In actual fact i had been blacklisted before tney marked my final artcile - and they marked that one excellent in all areas, after they had blacklisted me! So i'm kind of confused - and a bit miffed that I haven't had any work through there for ages and was looking forward to getting a bit of money in again!
Has anyone else had anyting similar happen? Was vikki able to help? I can't email the client as once you are blacklisted you can't contact them!

    Thanks!

That's quite strange; if you were getting such good ratings it could be accidental. Then again, who knows about the whims of clients :/ Hope you get it sorted! TB are usually pretty good with replying, so I'm sure they'll get back to you. I also thought I'd get some good orders out of that new batch, but I've had a few revisions on my first Team UK order. Bit frustrating as the client instructions aren't exactly great...

Textbroker got back to me - said it is inappropriate for them to ask clients to give reason, and that if it was accidental the client would rectify it (i don't see how they would know they'd done it if it was accidental!) So basically textbroker have refused to contact the client for me - to say i'm gutted is an understatement! 300 articles sitting there in the UK Team that I'm part of and now i can't take anymore - very disappointed as I could have done lots this weekend and really could do with the money at the moment - there have hardly been any other artciles i could do.
Has anyone else had this happen? Anyone else part of UK Team?

I had something similar happen back in March - was part of a different team and after having done about 30 articles with no problem over a few months, TB didn't like one of the ones I'd done and kept sending it back with no real feedback on what I was doing wrong. They kept telling me parts of it were irrelevant when they weren't. :( I kept asking for clarification on what exactly they wanted changed but was only threatened with article rejection by some guy called Malcolm (who had taken over the admin duties from Vikki). Then they banned me from that team.

I asked for a response from TB several times and complained about this Malcolm guy (who was less than polite) but they never responded. Was so cheesed off I havn't used TB since.

Not quite the same as yours but don't think there's anything you can do. Sorry. :(

Thanks. Have had a nice reply from Vikki now, acknowledging my disappointment but they still won't contact the client or do anything about it. Just said the client's are trained to use the facilities and can blacklist for a variety of reasons and kind of not to take it personally! The bit i find the most annoying is to be blacklisted, waiting for my final article i submitted for the client to be rated by them, then an hour after they blacklisted me to have them rate it excellent! The wanting different tone or voices makes sense and i can see they wouldn't want the same person doing 300 articles - but i'd only done 5 out of 330 available!
Oh well. Back to trying to scrape together a few pounds from the other articles that are available - not many at the moment!!
