cinema tickets are ridiculously priced I think. We went to see Tinkerbell as a family a couple of months ago and it cost us about £28. So I hunted for a cheaper way to do it this half term. Cineworld have bargain Tuesdays where every ticket is £5.50ish or if you book on line and join their club you get an extra 10% off so under £20 for the 4 of us, still a lot but better. I have joined a few of the cinema clubs as well, which apparently offer free tickets every so often (see the MSE article).

Well done on the fleabay sales I'm going to do our at some point soon when I find some motivation to list (if you've got space gratefully received :) )

As we have a day off on Wednesday's, Orange Wednesday' would be good for us, except Orange coverage has quite a lot of dead spots nearby, including our house. It is expensive to go to the cinema. We haven't gone for over a year. There's not been anything we want to see. We have been waiting until films go onto Sky Movies. But we are thinking of dropping the Movie channels as we don't watch enough. We'll probably end up waiting until the films go on to the BBC or ITV

We used to go to the cinema quite a lot but we don't have much choice between the ones near to us, and when you factor in the fuel and travel time it's really not worth it now unless we're in that direction anyway. It's a shame!

Lilmissup, you can't get amazon direct from nectar but you can use the points to buy amazon gift cards from Sainsburys ;)

Just spoke to the insurance company about changing the policy details for OHs new car - we'll get a refund of over £100 on the remaining policy and the renewal has more than halved :D.

I've also reworked how much we need to set aside each month for the cars and it's dropped by approx. 30% so I have paid some into savings. Massively chuffed as it will make a huge difference :D

Our saving target is looking almost reachable for the rest of the year if we're careful now. There wasn't a hope it hell a few months ago.

My car needs a service, I bought a oil and a new oil filter with every intention of doing it ourselves like we used to with my old car, but between work and not knowing the insides of this car so well I'm wondering if I should just take it into the garage and get them to do it for labour cost, just for ease. It's budgeted for I suppose...

I've done the TSB switch about, transfered the interest and 2x £5 rewards from our other accounts into the pot. Feeling very positive about it at the moment :D 20.4% of our target so far.

Doing a little top up shop today then will hopefully have a couple of NSD (or LowSD!)

Went for another cycle yesterday but think I might take a rest day today as my legs are feeling a little bit tired now and still need to get through work today.

£75 OPd today. We're at 55% of our OP target this 2014, so running ahead of schedule - would be fantastic if we could go over our target for both OPs and savings for the year. It will be the first time we've reached an OP target fully if we do!

Fully intending to have a NSD today. However, I do need to price up some new internal doors. Ours are old a shabby looking IMO they came with the house and it's been on my to-do list for a while. May attempt to hang them myself (good/bad idea I'm not sure!!).

Making HM pizza tonight, one of my favourites :D

Not a very successful day, apparently the date the garage gave us to pick car up was an estimate (good job I called to confirm collection!) it isn't infact ready so we have to wait. I've had to phone up the insurance company and cancel the change to the policy, which has already been refunded so they've had to recharge us and switch the policy back. Thank goodness the insurance company are decent about it, really can't fault elephant/admiral.

Went for a little cycle this morning. Been a lovely day so have got the washing out on the line!

Bought some new laundry detergent from co-op, it's reasonably priced but mainly got it as I wanted something cruelty free which wasn't tested on animals and they seem to be one of the most recommended options. wasn't that amazed by the aldi one I bought anyway.

Iceland bingo declined my Quidco cashback, was quite annoyed at it was rubbish to play so felt like an entirely wasted £5.

Today hasn't really gone to plan. No new car, OH not been well, some idiot let his dog run into the 60mph road infront of me causing an emergency stop and very near miss between myself and dog/oncoming car, I haven't eaten particularly healthily and got mud all over my white clothes (happens everytime!)

On the plus side, another small item sold on eBay and money put into the pot.

    There's always tomorrow :money:

Sorry about the other bad bits of your day though. Hope your OH feels better soon.

Thanks lilmissup, he's on the mend! Totally agree about the white clothes, they seem to attract mess like a magnet. My white linen trousers actually ended up covered in mud, looked like I'd had a bit of an accident to anybody who saw me that afternoon actually :o:rotfl:

Anew date has been set for the car and refund of excess policy money agreed with insurance company so just need to wait now.

Have family visiting soon and it is going to be expensive, I know I'm not going to be very MSE about it as we're already planning quite a few days out and I don't want to regret not doing more and feeling stingy. I guess a little bit of profligacy (thanks Mrs. RT ) can be okay now and then!

I've just ordered some new internal doors from Wickes, £200 delivered but they seem to be good quality based on review. Said visiting relatives will hopefully help me alter and hang them!

Making creamy tomato soup today. Also got the ingredients for some leek and potato so lunches should be sorted for a while!

£120 of the grocery budget left and meal planned/bought for until next week. Better than last month anyway!

Had a few more things go through Quidco. Need to renew our LL insurance, the only problem is out renewal quote is actually about the same as cancelled and taking out a new policy (if not slightly less) so need to weigh up whether it's worth it with/without cashback etc.
