Thats a great amount, bet when you hit £5k you will feel amazing! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

Thank you for stopping by!
Did a food shop today, budget is still running lower than it should but meal planned and bought ingredients for the next few days. Also bought a few extra bits to go in the food bank donation box at the supermarket, feel a bit mad that I didn't buy more than a handful of things now but better than nothing. Will do it more often - reminds me to be grateful and remember how easy it is for life to deal you a bad hand of cards.
Had HM pizza tonight with corn on the cob and HM coleslaw. Spare dough for mini-pizza lunch tomorrow
Tomorrow is Ching's fried sweet chilli chicken/tofu (again! It's SO good) with stir fried noodles + veg
Tuesday - Duck /'mock duck' and pancakes with hoisin, spring onions & cucumber.
Waiting for the ice-cream machine with great anticipation, the ingredients are all ready
Small amount of £co cashback is on route so will go into the pot when it lands0 -
The ice cream machine has arrived :A
Inner bowl is in the freezer and the vanilla custard is chilling in the fridge waiting for it, I had a little sample and it's delicious - goodbye waistline!
Not much more to report, monthly DD goes through tomorrow so looking forward to seeing the balance go down after it!
£co cashback added into the pot.
I'm quite certain I'll be starting a higher education course in September, just waiting to hear back from work about something. It will cost just over £1000, however I will hopefully qualify for a grant towards it - I need to look into it a little more. Either way it's an investment in my future so I don't mind coughing up for it.0 -
Somebody managed to lock herself out of mortgage online banking so won't be able to check the balance until the new stuff gets posted out to me
Reminded me that I seriously need to sort through al of our paperwork though, we have reams of it and a lot is no longer needed.
HM ice cream is amazingly good, but ridiculously unhealthy. Will make a batch of malteser ice cream to use the ingredients I bought then attempt some sorbets and slightly healthier options!
Couple of pounds £co cashback paid today, will add it to the pot when it lands.
£20 of the grocery budget left til the end of the month. Hello beans on toast!0 -
FE course is applied for, if I get accepted it will mean we probably wont be family planning for at least 15-18 months until I'm almost finished it. It feels like that would be the sensible option as it will give us a chance to save, and also be well over our fixed period finishing so we should be able to move/remortgage without having dependants or maternity pay to worry about. :money:
I really need to get our house valued as it will give me an incline as to whether we have any extra equity on top of what we've OPd. There might be a chance in hell of us actually scraping 40% LTV before we remortgage with a BTL (which will help massively with the interest rate) if it has gone up. Will do this in a month or two.
I'd love to save £10K in the next 18 months but that would mean £555 a month which would be quite a struggle unless we cut back our OPs I think. Will see how we get on in the next few months and how much funding I'll get towards my course.
Not too much to report, just waiting to payslips to come in to see how we stand for next month. Have family visiting so will likely be on the expensive side from leisure spending. I hope everybody is having a nice weekend! :cool:0 -
The eBay hack probably means I picked the worst time to finally list my eBay pile, but hey ho it's on now - took long enough to get there! I Hope the items sell for a reasonable amount as I would be disappointed to part with them for pennies.
I Got the grass cut this afternoon, desperately need a new lawn mower as the handle is broken on ours but it will do until I find one for a reasonable price!
The last week has been a bit nutty, spend wise, and we've used a lot of this months money that in hindsight probably should have been saved. We won't come in on the £500 savings target, unless said for sale items miraculously sell for a few hundred £ but we'll still have a reasonable number for May.
Still haven't received my new log in details for online baking so oblivious to the mortgage balance :eek:0 -
Well done on listing the eBay pile.
I think the listing bit is the worst bit. I don't mind taking the photos, I like watching the bids come in (hopefully) and I don't even mind the packing. But the listing - ugh! There's so much pressure to get it exactly right, as buyers can be so unforgiving .
This hacking thing is a worry. It's concerning that they could have access to names and addresses.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I know what you mean. I love the bids bit and can cope with the packing up and sending, but hate listing them.
Hope it's all a success.0 -
All items have watchers and almost all have bids, so far so good!
Had a really busy few days at work and can't really get motivated to do all the house stuff when I'm home. All the pets take up a lot of time which doesn't make it any easier.
Mortgage balance is now £92,927.82. I think it will just creep back up into £93K's by the end of the month but I may put in some of June's OP early if I can, the only way I want it going is down!
Dinner wise...
HM Falafel in pittas tonight - will be our first attempt at them!
Fajitas tomorrow
Waiting (not so) patiently for my next payslip. June is going to be a busy and expensive month so need to try and budget carefully and not have a repeat of this month!0 -
Waiting on a few pounds of £co cashback to land.
This weekend is going to be spent looking for a different car for OH. He's decided that he would like a cheaper one. This would be great as it will mean we would be paying significantly less each month into the car maintenance account, and could also take a chunk back out to put elsewhere as we've been putting away for tyres, services etc, for his current car which haven't been purchased yet. Fingers crossed we find something nice
Having problems with starlings stealing all of our hens food...0
