  • It doesn't matter how dire and dark the situation gets girls,(and fellas too) we are so lucky to have the great fund of information, experience and ideas, not the mention feet on the floor common sense and imagination of all contributors to this and the tougher thread, whatever the problem, if there is a way to solve it, I am absolutely certain someone will have answers to most if not all of it. Yes it is getting tougher, but from all your posts and contributions it feels as if we are getting tougher and more innovative, determined and resilient too. Whatever happens, we have support here and I for one am mightily glad of it. Thanks everyone for making me feel that all will never ever be completely lost, you are a cracking bunch of allies, Cheers Lyn xxx.

I feel like I have had lots of really good advice, help and support, especially on this thread. It is nice to have support from like minded people, so I know I am not the only one that is daft!

Prices are going up, and the world generally seems to be a scary place at the moment. I am so happy to have my little home, my store cupboard, bills paid and a little bit put by for emergencies. I also have my health, and a very dear family. (You cant put a price on those)

I feel so lucky, and am very aware of my good fortune, especially when I read how some people are struggling, with finances, family traumas and health problems.

Hope everyone is well and stay warmx

Well, I for one hope that I will always be able to afford to stay online(allowing for computer breakdowns)and prices of essentials continuing to go up.

Some are critical when times are tough(haven't seen it on here)of people having access to the net and a phoneline for some contact to the outside world but what can you do for approx 55p a day?

You have to have some entertainment.

But more importantly support, advice and access to companionship.

  • Hi all
Sending lots of hugs to anyone that needs one or would just like one.
It's baltic and very soggy up here, lots of sleety icy rain rather than snow so far.
So glad i feel prepared and supported by the prepping pose' (sp?), we are cosy and have enough food to last a good while.
It makes the stress and worry of what is currently going on and what may be looming a little easier to cope with, it sure helps knowing we are supporting each other with information and lots of virtual helping hands.

Felt a tad smug:D earlier with my trapper hat pulled snuggly over my ears and my waterproof trousers in my bag, watching people totally unprepared in flimsy coates etc (for goodness sake I live in Scotland, surely they can't believe it will be sunny in January!) However having everything with me does mean that I will never have a "dainty girly" handbag :rotfl:.
    Take care All

So sorry about all of this Ali - I'm lobbing a bit of my chocolate cake your way! You can have a tot of something alcofrolic too if you want. :).
That's while I can afford either of course..
Max Keiser on RT pointed out something in one of his recent shows - the UK taxpayer is picking up most of the fine for the RBS Libor rigging.

Great innit. We bail em out then we get to pay the fine for dodgy dealing! But just let a small business owner get caught cooking the books. But are we bothered about these double standards? Max pointed out that we are more concerned about what's going into our burgers.
There again, it hasn't been publicised that much. Hmmm...
We've been done over like the proverbial kipper.
I wonder if it will ever get to the stage when we just say 'Enough!'
  • WLL - I gave up on handbags many years ago, I always use a rucksack these days, and hang how it looks!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

Alibobsy so sorry the news isnt better. It does put things into perspective doesnt it. I too give thanks for a comfortable warm home and a good stock of food. Despite Oh's poorlyness we still manage to laugh at silly things and get through the day.

I was worrying about a little dog I saw when I nipped to the shops and couldnt settle so OH said go and check on it before you drive yourself crazy. Turned out he belonged to someone at the little industrial unit at the end of the street and wasnt lost just standing guard - a tiny Shtzu with a cropped coat - he was obviously conning me into thinking he was cold and lost.

I worry a lot especially at night but meditate so I cannot think about it all. I think you mean Prepping Posse Westlothian lass but we got what you meant. Yes all we can do is keep each other propped up with advice and hugs. I saw a girl out before in a short sleeved t shirt and no coat and she certainly didnt look poor just stupid. I agree, we are hardly likely to think there could possibly be a heatwave going on so put some layers on
