How about we keep this thread going for those of us who do like to discuss politics?

Starting a new thread more in tune with your needs is fine, but demanding that the old one be locked smacks of taking home your football I think.

The new thread is simply a continuation of the old thread. I may have started it but I have no ownership of it - who am I to claim that?- but my intention was NEVER to do anything else.

Please talk politics or dehydrators, whatever seems right. But what I would say is that I have already noticed lots of new people looking at the new thread, some commenting some just 'thanking' posts. So if it is bringing new people in that is surely all good?

I mainly lurk but I have learned soooooo much.
This is my first call when I come on the site and I already feel I've lost friends. It may have digressed but its the one site where everyone pulls together normally. Its so so valuable and has really changed my thoughts on life
(((((hun)))) please don't feel sad, we're just playing silly beggars over on the BNW thread and teasing Mardatha about vegetables. Same old nutters, slide on over and join in.

He he, we need our wee Scottish firebrand to pop up - can anyone lay a trail of jelly babies over the net to entice her over?

I know, I just feel sad as it was this particular thread that really drew me in initially and really has changed how I view life. Sniff..

I don't mind a bit of politics. After all we need to keep up with what's happening and it can be a heads up for some personal preps. But where things do begin to slide, is where folks 'take umbrage' about different attitudes/viewpoints/mindsets.
There is already a thread on the EU referendum if people want to argue the cut and thrust. If this isn't enough, someone could even start a thread on Brexit the Consequences or BrexitWatch (a bit like SpringWatch but without Chis Packham :D).
Edit just seen there is actually a BrexitWatch organisation - so they might sue us if we started a thread with that name :)...)
