Good luck Mrs- moneypenny - I've been through four Ofsteds and none of them were much fun. Never quite sure if they're a necessary evil or just plain evil. I'm glad they don't inspect retired teachers, suspect I'd fail miserably:):)0

As in taking lessons from Elizabeth Windsor then?. That being never ever ever to give a "personal opinion" (aka "nail colours to mast") unless absolutely desperate/Major Issue/etc - at which point let it be known that "3 questions are being asked about......".
So - everyone thinks you're "on their side" unless and until you "let it be known" with a very carefully-worded comment.
Hmm...I can see the logic in that I guess.
I've discounted Gove personally as "next leader of Conservative Party".
I think, on balance, I will discount Theresa May too. By a bit of a whisker - but probably too widely thought of as "nasty" (and probably with a degree of accuracy on that one) - so if the "mood" is to be reconciliatory - then she's a no-goer...0 -
Just had a quick check on Jeremy Hunt as well - and I dont think so - ie as next Conservative Party leader.
So - first opinion and then, more considered, later opinion and I'm sticking to my first thoughts as to who I think it will be personally. I couldnt give you long detailed academic "ins and outs" on it and I may be wrong and it could be Boris Johnson or Theresa May yet....but....yep....I still reckon it'll be Stephen Crabb.0 -
Just read Liam fox is up for it as well now.
Don't think Michael gove would be popular as he peed off too many teachers, Jeremy hunt likewise but with nhs staff, Theresa May upset the police. Is there a politician who hasn't got on the wrong side of a large group of voters?SPC~12 ot 124

Stephen Crabb hasn't been at Work and Pensions long enough to be accused of grinding the faces of the poorIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I'm enormously heartened that so many other european countries seem to have substantial amounts of p'd-off voters who don't want to continue with the EU in its present form. I do think our political class would like to do away with Brexit and I think that some hard talks were had over the weekend to see if they could possibly get away with ignoring the result.
The decision seems to be that they can't. Some of us are old enough to remember the jolly days of the poll tax, and how that was brought down not by politicians coming to their senses (it was a stupid idea exercised stupidly) but by mass civil unrest.
I'm guessing that the politicians are frightened that things will get really out of hand if they don't make a fair attempt at exiting the EU. They might be thinking about b@llsing it up so that we have to crawl back and beg for readmittance, tho.
I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if some nutter tried to kill Mrs Merkel.

There's a thought to ponder on that hadnt crossed my mind GQ - ie "nutter taking a potshot at Merkel".
I did think "Is she off her cotton-pickin' mind for virtually saying 'come one come all' into Germany?" At that point - I just reacted with "That's one way to commit political suicide - and I bet she gets held to account for that come the first chance to get rid of her". I honestly wondered whether she was quite sane when she basically gave out that message - I'm still wondering....
Hmmm...you may possibly be right that someone will do that GQ now I come to think of it...
I just literally couldnt believe how anyone could act so determinedly against Germany's best interests (and her own long-term prospects) and am still wondering why she did that.
Okays - your starter for 10. Can anyone explain what her reasoning was in doing that? (Note to self - study her eyes in recent photos - it would be "early onset of " but you never know......).
EDIT; Just googled asking how old she is - born 1954 - so not that likely yet....but its possible....0 -

A little reading supplies the info that Stephen Crabb supported the disability benefit cuts earlier on this year and voted with the motion.0

More reading coming up:

Now I'm confused - as this website records him as having voted two different ways on the same date about the same matter ???0
